According to the info we have, the game went into QA at Nintendo of Europe in Mid january where where the rumor caught fire about the issues. And he reported them. here a quate form the originial

"We've since contacted Robertson directly and he's elaborated a little more. He says that Nintendo's QA department is very concerned with how players will react to the "complex" motion controls - which have come under fire in the past - and that the entire project feels "disjointed".

It also says NoE was expected to fix this issue, in some way.

So this is not a new issue, this was even stated as one of the Official reasons why they delayed the game. In no way did this pop up only 2 month from release.

Lastly, Liam is a very trusted source, while nothing he says should be taken as fact, but I would give him the benifit of the doubt.

What I am reading out of this is that the game is finished and the controls are working fine, but are difficult to get used to. Since we already know that at least gyro controls are optional, I don't see a problem here. People will get used to the two screens, it just might take some time.

Better delay game than launch broken or bad game, but if they can't finish game in near future maybe its better to move whole project to NX.

Also for OP, when you making thread based on rumour, ad rumour in headline. This is a rumour not official info.

This game must be broken...or worse...average.

The first delay was already pretty long and that was still wasn't enough huh? Game must be in way worse shape than we thought. There's no rush to release it so please delay it as many times as necessary.

Last time I heard about this game, the project was all finished but the motion controlls. If that part is so hard to get right, why don't just scrap it altogether? It's not worth making more bad blood with the audience, delay after delay. Just look at MN9.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

There must be something seriously wrong with the game for them to still be having these discussions this late in the dev cycle.

I think Miyamoto is obsessed with proving the dual screen tablet controller thing is a workable concept rather than just focusing on making a good Star Fox game.

There is something i'm tired of hearing, and that is the fact Nintendo communicates less than before to be seen like they are holding secrets and things aren't well.

Sony hasnt shown Horizon in many months... it must mean development troubles. No? Why not? Cause Sony didnt get us used to communicating every 1-2 months with directs. Maybe things are wrong with Uncharted because it got delayed again? No?
Nintendo's president died and they went with a different communication strategy. Silence in this case only means they changed their strategy, not that everything is doom and gloom.

With that out of my chest (not that it will make a diference), they better not make motion controls mandatory. I thought they learned with the Wii that that isnt the popular solution for hardcore games aka Zelda in the specific example.

Myiamoto, you old stubborn bastard.

I mean, even after 2 years working on the game, he never doubted his decisions. It took everybody 5 minutes to realize that those controls doesn't work.
I don't think it's bad though, just the classic controls are so much better, it just doesn't make sense to cripple your game like that.

If the game is not really, really good they should just delay it.

Releasing underwhelming games like Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, Mario Tennis, etc. is not helping the Wii U and its just creating a bad taste in the mouths of consumers.

If still sucks come September/October ... then it really just needs for Miyamoto to leave the project and be started from scratch for the NX, maybe salvaging whatever assets can be saved. Let someone younger take over the project and inject some new ideas into it, maybe one of the Splatoon guys.

A Star Fox game that comes out to poor/lukewarm reviews at this stage on the Wii U is likely to bomb anyway, which isn't good for the franchise.

I don´t think they will delay that game again. They need the game as soon as possible on the market
