The people that think there will be no change are the people that lack vision. Personally I don't have the vision that people a lot smarter than me have and I haven't got a clue what is the next big thing after smart phones. But at the same time I know there are people out there that have the vision to innovate.

Well it seems like even "Sony" or "Kaz" doesnt have this vision since he admits himself that he doesnt know what will replace it.

And i dont think that people are saying the "Wont" be any change. I do believe the SmarthPhone will evolve again just like Mobile phones evolved into Smartphones, but they are still phones except now you can do more with them. However phones wont be replaced anytime soon. Evolve yes, replaced no...

First paragraph, doesn't relate to anything I've said. Second paragraph, nice speech but you've basically just agreed with Kaz.

Kaz isn't saying 'phones' will disappear. Not sure why you're trying to make out that is what's being said. He's saying that smartphones are no longer making huge innovations and the next big innovative in cell/mobile phones will move away from the phones we use today (smart phones). Call it evolution if you want but it's still the same thing.

Disregard this post :P

Not sure what it will be either but am glad he's thinking this way. Innovation leads to a better future in most cases. (and even when it sucks, it's still kinda exciting )

Somehow, I doubt it.

I think the next big thing will probably be neural-interfaces. Basically, you can text without having to type or even say the words. In my opinion, that would probably be the only thing more convenient then a smartphone that fits in your pocket.

Smartphones may be rendered obsolete one day. But just making the statement, without merely hinting at what may replace them, is like stating nothing at all.

No offense, but even if they did know what was going to replace it?  Why give the competition the heads up.

Nintendo has known what the Wii-U is for a while, there is a reason they don't release all the info early.  I'm not saying Sony knows, but saying they aren't on to something is a bit premature. They are just not saying what it is.

No, the smart phone is too practical to just get replaced anytime soon.

Exactly what I think of when I think of the future.

I guess you are right. I am being harsh because I missed SONY Ericsson bold designs when they made the transition to Android.

I still have this phone in my drawer. It looked cool and it felt amazing

videoconsoles are gonna be gone faster then the smartphone...
