They won't do shit about it, they won't quickly release a new console, and VR isn't going to be a big hit initially (if ever). They also have AR. And they've stated that they will support Oculus.

AR will cost in the 4-digit range initially, you could probably but 4 xbox 1's for the same price when it comes out :P

Not important. The important thing is that VR isn't going to be popular.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Or so some people are hoping upon.

The reality is that PSVR wont overshadow the PS4 controller as the main choice but it could very well be substantially larger than the kinect ever was. Hundreds of developers have already pledged support making games for PSVR much more than kinect or move controller or even 3D tv. In comparison OR/Vive will have really little support from customers because they are so expensive. Basically only the people who have no problem spending $400+ on a single GPU will buy the OR/Vive.

What can MS do about this? Absolutely nothing. They have no 3d device in production and one would take many years to get to market. And the Xbox One is not really powerful even to support OR/Vive. And MS really haven't talked about Halolens recently you know why? The lead engineer for the project was hit and killed by a drunk driver and MS has since then layed off most of the halolens team. The halolens project is most likely on the backburner years from a actual market ready prototype.

So in the end the PS4 will have even another driving force attracting customers towards them and away from Xbox.

You cannot prove that yet. You also cannot disprove it. Your statement is conjecture at this point.

Or you can buy the set for $2000 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BHN1OMQ/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B01BHN1OMQ&linkCode=as2&tag=octorift-20&linkId=C2E4LV23IJEED4LT

The official price is not announced yet, but I doubt a ps4 + psvr combo will be north of $700.
It will be a while before VR capable pc + vr headset will beat that.

So what is PC VR going to do or have in the meantime?.

A small user base? Not sure what you're asking for.

Fanboys will fanboy and nothing is going to stop that.  But I do feel that the mass of people who do own a Xbox aren't going to sit by and troll.  I think if people are interested in VR, no matter what they game on, they will find a way.  My guess is that they would by a PC most likely because of the price wormhole that PC VR is heading to right now.

What price wormhole is that? A ps4 + psvr would still be cheaper than OR + capable gaming PC.
Or do you think OR + capable gaming pcs will drop in price faster than ps4 + psvr combo?

As of now you're out about $1600 for entry level capable gaming pc + OR (well maybe a bit less today and you can scrap the monitor)

Sorry there that was a typo. I meant they would probably get a PS4 due to rhe PC price wormhole.

The only thing really for MS to do is just follow suit. If VR becomes popular, MS will probably buy out another company with a VR headset or make a deal with one to get a headset as quick as possible. After that, it would be pretty easy for any 3rd party dev to port games to the xbox one.

But unless you think that VR is gonna be like Wii popular (super popular, super fucking fast), then Microsoft won't have a problem. If they see VR is going to be popular and stay popular, they'll keep it in mind when designing their next console.

Lol the Wii was a casual fad for a couple years and will never happen again.

And Microsoft does already have a problem. They have a $5+ billion investment in the Xbox one and it's not selling well enough. Do they want another force working against them. A customer will see a competitor in the PS4 that's known to be more powerful, have better versions of games, and now has 3d that Xbox doesn't have and they will even see the 3d games as PS4 exclusives. And the next console is many years away.

Tell me where are these mythical companies that have VR headsets that will automagically work with the Xbox

It will put Xbox in even worse shape. Which is why so many are predicting and hoping it fails.
