You’re missing the point completely. Fighter is just the label, a Beat 'em up game can come under a fighter label too. Smash is a Party Beat ‘em up game in my opinion. Sure its labelled a fighter doesn’t mean it’s the same thing. Don’t get me wrong, Smash is one of the best games I’ve played this generation and I am still playing it today.
If you think Smash is anything like SF, Tekken, KI, MK etc then I have to doubt you even played them.
It’s like comparing F-Zero to GT and Forza. There all under Racing games right? Yes but there different games for different people. Smash is at EVO because it’s a very competitive game. Not because it’s an Arcade Fighter.

I bet they also have the best platformers - in your opinion? The best RPGs - in your opion? The best action adventures - in your opinion? The best indies - in your opinion? The best DLC - in your opinion? The best shaped hardware (even though its universally considered a clunker)- in your opinion? The best best color (even if they are both the same colors) - in your opinion? The best battery system for a controller - in your opinion?

Yep.
Not really. I assume that characters are $5 a pop still and that there are "season passes" for each new season of characters cause otherwise, that would be expensive as fuck. Either way, I am put off by their model of business and would only consider getting it once they release a super ultra all-complete edition.
Personal feelings aside, I don't think KI is the fighting game of this. Street Fighter, with their "free" updates stand a better chance as that, as well as Tekken, who generally do not charge for new characters (hopefully that is still the case with tekken 7) KI is still kinda cult-ish as oppose to SF and Tekken and I doubt it would ever match or surpass their popularity.

All Harada needs to do to make me happy is put Lee (or Lee's fighting style) in the game and I'm happy. Else my main character is gone and I'll have to adapt. Can't wait otherwise.
