Oh cry a river. You're indie. Doesn't mean you're entitled to anything.

Well, I've been part of the industry for more than a decade so if I'm talking down, it's from a perch I didn't earn just yesterday. That aside, and more to the point than my own history, simply following the industry can tell you all you need to know about release schedules. When was the last time that Sony, Nintendo or MS releases a home console during the same year it was unveiled? The fact no unveiling happened in 2015 pretty much guaranteed a release date beyond 2016 if home console conventions are held. |

It isn't their talent which is in question here, it is the magnitude and importance of them having early access to the Dev kits. The issue is the fact that in reality it takes a team a far longer time to create AAA+ games for a new piece of hardware and as such big AAA teams need to have dev kits for far longer than a indie developer to create the same end experience as each other with their products.
There is probably (almost definitely) more coding done in the differences between AAA titles running on both PS4/X1 as there would be behind all of Ori and the Blind Forest, nevermind creating a full AAA game from scratch.

You wanna know the best part about this guys rant is that it got a former PS exec. to support Nintendo.

I would think everyones thoughts on this matter are more or less the same, if there was any chance of a console manufacture sharing pre release information with these devs before this matter there is none at all now that you would share such sensitive information with people who would have a childish blowout like this, just really making other indies look bad when one goes off like this imo.

Because Nintendo doesn't support indie games and give them a space in almost every event they make? |
Or even allow an indie to have their own amiibo, which are selling like hotcakes?

Yup, and to add to it, his tweet got baked up by a MS Exec. Shit like this don't happen everyday.
OT: whether the Indie developer is right or wrong can be argued, but one thing is for sure, the Dev ain't making friends in the right places with that attitude.

They obviously don't care about indies.

I hope they won't be so drastic, but I agree after this hissy fit they could become even more prudent and carefully evaluate not only talent and commitment, but also maturity of small devs before considering giving them early access to new HW or its specs. A talented but childish dev could not only leak confidential data if angry for some possibly childish reasons, but even just to brag, and console producers won't run this risk.
