You're right I did initiate the comparison. That said you didn't get a full game. KI didn't become a full game until season 2 was complete. The full $20 season 1 of KI was a glorified demo. The last three SFV betas had more content than KI season 1.

Why are we comparing them?  If KI did it wrong, does that give Street Fighter a free pass?

My gripe with Street Fighter V is that, upon first look, it didn't look like a big improvement over Ultimate SFIV.  That game has years to build but damn. I loved using Elena, Blanka, Poison, Honda etc. Killer Instinct was built from scratch, basically. SFV just had to build from what came before! I didn't even enjoy KI, yet. I prefer the SF series by far.

Really, the only reason we're comparing the two is that one is from M$ and one is from Sony. Why aren't we throwing in (two games I didn't buy) Mortal Kombat or Injustice?  Those games had a ton of content. Tekken (another franchise I don't play anymore) will have a lot of content. Street Fighter is bare bones. I bought Killer Instinct and THAT game was bare bones but it was cheap.

I just ordered a $60 Hori fight pad from Amazon for this game.  It arrives Match 1. I'm going to buy SFV and when I do, I'm going to pay $50 for PS Plus. I own(ed) all of the Street Fighters* including the Ex games since like 1992 across various platforms.  I've played against YOU on Xbox Live!  I love Street Fighter but I'm not going to make excuses for it.

*I didn't buy the SNK vs Capcom games

That is the main reason right there, every numbered street fighter since Street Fighter freaking 1 has seen significant improvements/changes. Street fighter 1 to sf2 big changes SF2 to SF3 big changes, the lack of the iconic characters from SF2 really hurt SF3 that was such a dumb move from capcom I still wonder what guile sagat blanka etc would have looked like on that glorious cps3 engine, SF3 to SF4 big changes, SF4 to SF5 meh. I consider capcom really brave to slap 5 on this game.

As a really big fighter game and street fighter fan its illogical that I don't have this game already but I really just don't have any interest in picking it up right now. Capcom really messed up this time if they thought they could nickel and dime their customers and hold back characters (liked they learned nothing from sf3),I will wait to see when/if they release characters like guile sagat sakura (no sakura whyyy) before I even consider picking this game up.

edit- Or maybe i will buy the game sooner who knows

I think Capcom squashed any doubt about this coming to Xbox, NX, etc. Sony paid Capcom to keep this game away from the competitors but allowed PC.

However, I don't think SF the IP will stay console exclusive.

Unless you can provide solid proof of this, it needs to stop being said.

Seriously? Isnt it obvious.

Phil said it was a business deal why SFV isnt coming to Xbox. And clearly part of that deal excluded Xbox support.

Killer Instinct, move Microtransactions, Destiny, move microtransactions, Street Fighter, is like Dota, or LoL,  there isn't really any griding, you make it seems that have a lot of griding, and you still deny the Truth, that you can get Each Character, very easy with in-game coin.

Easy is subjective. It will take numerous hours to unlock all the characters and thats why they have time saving microtransactions.

Thats the truth. Lets wait and see how it goes.

Do you will not Play the game ?, They are making something that would be Cash only, possible to get with in-game Money, that is the Right policy, the "Fair Play" policy, you can get 3 Characters from the 6 that will launch throught 12 Months, on 1 Day, less than 6 Hours of Gameplay.

Tekken, the Biggest, and Best selling Modern Fighting Franchise, Tekken 5, you had to Finish the Story mode with All the characters to unlock all, and you needed to make Jin Kazama's Devil Within, Plus the Survival/Arcade mode, to unlock Other characters, what i see that Street Fighter, is doing, is the same as Tekken, but they let you purchase the Characters with Real Money, Instead.

The problem with your statement is that KI is F2P, SFV is 60$. So there clearly is a difference between the two.

Killer Instinct, is a Game that give to you 1 Random character to play it, and is done, you will have to Pay 40US$ to have the Same numbers of Characters that Street Fighter V, have on Day one, and you will be able to get every new character from SF, for Free, while on KI, you will have to pay 20US$ per year.

League of Legends, let a "Free Week" each week they release 10-12 Characters for Free, 2 Per Role as i remember, on Dota, all the characters already are avaliable.

So far no early legs.

Good legs does not means that need to sell on Launch levels  aways, Splatoon, sold 20-30 Thousands per week, until surpass 1 Million on Japan.

As we know the game already sold 220 Thousands, only with Steam, UK, and Japan.

So we're looking at ~500k first month for pc worldwide and the three biggest console markets.
that is sunset overdrive sales territory

I'm not betting on Capcom making another version but, throughout history, "exclusive" titles have gone multi-plat. This includes titles from Capcom that they publicly stated weren't going to other consoles. Imagine how I felt when I saw Genesis gamers getting a version of Street Fighter II or PlayStation gamers getting Resident Evil 4 or Mass Effect 1!

I'm getting this game on PS4 but, when it comes to "exclusivity", stranger things have happened.

Even though Capcom already said they didn't have the resources for it and MS pretty much gave em the finger with their no-cross-play policy? Mark my words: it ain't happenin'.

Withdrawing from the exclusivity deal means they'll have to start funding the tournaments and marketing on their own, and I'm not sure they have the money to do that. In fact, they flat out said they didn't.

220K, with less than 15% of PS4'S Install base Data, and with the Worldwide Fighting Game Pc Fans, the Best selling fighter game of all times on PC, did not passed 1 Million of Units, i think that did not even got 800 Thousands, the PC Market, is not so big for Fighting.

The game could have sold 500-1 Million on USA Alone, we still don't have the Numbers, wait atleast for VG Chartz Numbers.

You're probably right.
