it is what it is. Maybe if they launched the game at $30 instead of 60, they wouldn't have gotten the amount of backlash they got.

| LudicrousSpeed said: I despise the way the game was released and the apologists working hard over it, but I don't want the game to bomb. Not only would that put future SF games into jeopardy, but that would make Capcom a lot less willing to take risks on other fighters. They used to make a lot of good fighters. I want a Marvel vs Capcom 4 that plays more like the original MvC than the two sequels. That will never happen if SFV is a failure for them. It could also make them more hesitant to make other risky games outside the fighting genre. I will buy down the line. I know they (supposedly) aren't doing "super ultra" editions with SFV or whatever, but there will just be corresponding updates instead. So instead of a Super Ultra SFV Arcade Edition SKU, you'll just have a content update. I can wait for those and pay less. |
I don't want to be "that guy" but Marvel vs Capcom 4 has very little chance of ever happening since Capcom doesn't have the Marvel license anymore. Even worst, all the digital versions of MvC, MvC2, MvC3 have been pulled from online stores like PSN and Xbox Live.
Signature goes here!

That's something they specifically said they wouldn't be doing.

Smash is not a fighting game.

...Which is why Nintendo vs. Capcom will to happen! Everything is proceeding according to plan... The only VS. game with the potential to not only rival the success of MvC, but surpass it. And the whole "Capcom characters are too mature" argument died the moment Bayonetta was confirmed for Smash. Not only does she use guns against Nintendo characters, but she get's "naked" in front of them. There's no more "too mature." The time is now. I'm unrealistically optimistic about this.

Simply calling it a party brawler is clear enough, and we have heard it before because it's the undeniable truth, but we're getting off topic.

Mario kart isn't a racer and Splatoon isn't a shooter either. Jokes aside, it's like people don't understand sub genres. I mean their is a reason why we call games like sf/mk traditonal 2d fighters :/

ThereThere waswas guns since ssb 64. And why compare ssb with a vs game if ssb isn't a fighter?

That would be awesome. So long as it plays closer to MvC1 than the others.

I'd much prefer Square-Enix vs. Capcom. Think of all the dream match-ups:
Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) vs. Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)
Adam Jensen (Deus Ex) vs. Albert Wesker (Resident Evil)
Chrono (Chrono Trigger) vs. Ryu (Street Fighter)
Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy) vs. Dante (Devil May Cry)
Zero (Drakengard) vs. Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers)
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy) vs. Vergil (Devil May Cry)
Agent 47 (Hitman) vs. Chris Redfield/Leon S. Kennedy (Resident Evil)
Garrett (Thief) vs. Strider Hiryu (Strider)
Rico Rodriguez (Just Cause) vs. Nathan Spencer (Bionic Commando)
Kain (Soul Reaver) vs. Nemesis (Resident Evil)
Raziel (Soul Reaver) vs. Samanosuke Akechi (Onimusha)
Aya Brea (Parasite Eve) vs. Regina (Dino Crisis)
Tifa Lockhart (Final Fantasy) vs. Chun-Li (Street Fighter)
The list goes on and on.
Hell, they could even do two versions of it: CapcomxSqueenix with MvC3's engine and a SquareEnixxCapcom with a Final Fantasy VII remake action-battle system.
