Well... first of all, this is assuming the NX, whatever it is can run Zelda Wii U.

But, no. I would rather the new system have a zelda specificly designed for it rather than a second hand one.

There is no reason to assume that NX want be able to run Zelda U, because NX isn't only handheld device and home console or some sort of hybrid will definitely be stronger than Wii U.

NX will have own Zelda, Zelda U port for NX don't affect on that. In any case we would wait 3-4 years for NX Zelda, that means for NX same like Wii U very long time without new Zelda game, but Wii U port NX will have brand new Zelda game on launch.

If its a portable, i very much doubt it will be.

Zelda U will probably be more balanced in sales between the two platforms compared to TP, because it is extremely unlikely that NX will be as successful as the Wii.

If the NX launches with Zelda, and its sales explode on release like the Wii 's, then from now on nintendo better launch every new console with a mainline zelda game.Same with mario, no more 2D sidescrolling Marios, a 3D one on console launch should be a must for nitnendo.

Games sell consoles, and as much as anyone might denie it, Nintendo = mario & zelda, without those on a system, it just wont sell.

Look at what happend with Wii U.

It launched without a 3D mario, or a Zelda game. Its honestly something Nintendo cant afford to do, it hurts them too much.

Frankly, Zelda U could be the best reviewed game of all time and NX still wouldn't sell like Wii.

And it's not as simple as Nintendo = Mario and Zelda. Other franchises like Splatoon and Smash Bros are important as well.

Of Course, OoT is best reviewed game ever and N64 sold 3 time less than PS1. But having Zelda U like launch title will definatly help NX.

So would any game though really, if you think about it.

In some way, but not every game can have same effect, 3D Zelda is always huge thing, and we now have first HD, with true open and biggest world Zelda game. 3D Mario and 3D Zelda like launch titles will be pure win.

Fair enough, but a console main Pokemon would more than likely be bigger than both of those titles... Combined.

Ad a new Mario Kart and 2D Mario has a history of selling better than a 3d Mario and 3d Zelda. Just saying there are mulitple ways they could go about a launch that would equal or blow away the sales of a 3d Mario and Zelda.

Pokemon definitely would be huge, and I think because of most likely unifed platform, NX home console will have Pokemon too.

Mario Kart is one of the biggest seller for Nintendo consoles, Splatoon will become also, Smash Bros is strong seller too. But 2D Mario (or any 2D platform game) in modern gaming definitely isn't huge seller and good choice for key launch title, it has mass appealing but its not system seller, NSMBU was pretty bad choice for Wii U launch.

So what Nintendo can prepare for NX launch: MK8 and Smash Bros were released in 2014. so it would be to soon to release them in 2016. like launch title, Splatoon is 2015. game also to soon, 3D Mario World was finished in 2013. so we are on track for new 3D Mario at end of 2016, Zelda U port is basicly all but confirmed from Nintendo, Pokemon cross deavice game is also posible, and we have rumour that Namco Bandai works on Smash Bros 4 port for NX launch.

I'm not happy about the delay at all.
That said, look at Skyward Sword to see what's definitely NOT working: swan songs don't sell. And that was the Wii, with an install base of 100m - imagine how Zelda U will do on Wii U's measly 12m. The system is being faded out already, and by winter the NX will have been officially announced.

Nintendo must manage to shift their Zelda development cycle, so that new entries can be released to healthy ecosystems. Wasn't Ocarina the game that prompted Miyamoto to coin his famous "delayed game good eventually, bad game bad forever" quote? It's still true, but we could add that a crazy long delay means your game will flop horribly.

Most people doubted their 2015 release date when they announced it. They need to have 2 unqiue Zelda teams so they can allow that 4-5 year development Cycle and still have 1 Zelda games every 3 years.

Essentially that's what they have, if you're counting portable original titles. I would argue it's not about the length of the development cycle but its "position". Much as I'd love more big Zelda games, 5 years is fine, if the results are as outstanding as they've been (console entries at least). But recently the end of each 5 year period happened at a bad time in the respective consoles' lifespan.

You have no idea what it will be. You're making stuff up.
