Forums - Nintendo - SuperMetalDave rumor: FFVIIR and FFXV coming to NX, NX more powerful then PS4

Ryu is the same as snake: already had big presence with nintendo, meaning it's smash bros appearance doesn't need to mean anything. And in ryu's case it's still too soon to say it didn't mean any other deal. FF7, however, never released on a nintendo console.

You're really pulling at straws. Sounds like you simply don't want FF7R and others on a nintendo console.

No, sounds more like you're jumping to conclusions.

Snake had a big presence with ninty? don't make me laugh.

Also, based on what Capcom have stated, SFV will be console exclusive (they also clarified that there won't be a SFV turbo version for any other console).

For your information, I have no problem with FFVIIR or FFXV coming to the next ninty console. Since they stated it's only debuting on a ps console, it's defnitely coming to either xb, nx or both? If it's not gonna be an exclusive, they may as well release it on as many platforms as possible so that they can make a profit considering how expensive these games have gotten.

Me? Jumping to conclusions? I'm very clear when I say there's a big possibility those games are coming to wii u successor, as there are many factors that support that idea. You're the one saying it won't because reasons.

Metal gear started on nintendo consoles and the gamecube got twin snakes = snake's presence in smash didn't have to mean anything. It's a popular character with a history in nintendo.

Ryu has even more ties with nintendo than snake. Even after main SF games stopped coming to nintendo Home consoles, ryu was still part of capcom vs snk on GC and tatsunoko vs capcom on Wii. SF4 also released for 3ds back in 2011. So again, his presence in smash doesn't have to mean anything, although it still might. SF5 isn't the only thing in existence for deals, you act like another capcom vs something or non SF5 street fighter can't happen.

Cloud is the star of FF7, wich never released on a nintendo console. That means his presence most likely means the remake is coming to a nintendo system.

Since nintendo has a new system to be unveiled soon that already seems to be supported by square enix and nintendo is in goos terms with SE recently, I see no reason to believe those games mentioned in the thread (and others) wouldn't go to nintendo.

So many things wrong with this post, I don't know where to start from.

1. Yes you did. This is what I was referring to: "Sounds like you simply don't want FF7R and others on a nintendo console"

2. This is a downright lie. If you lie again, I will put you on ignore. Either read more carefully or don't bother replying to me.

"For all we know, SE wants ninty gamers to buy their next ff game/become fans of their frachise and that's free advertising for them. Or it could be more."

All I said is that it doesn't necessarily mean anything. It could be nothing more advertising. Or it could be FFVIIR coming to NX!! Is it clear now?

3. That's by no means a big presence. Most mainline games skipped Ninty consoles.

4. The discussion is about mainline games, not spin offs. SFIV released on 3ds, not wii or wiiu. Also, wasn't cloud in a ff 3ds game? There could be another spin off on nx/ next handheld ninty console where he's one of the chracters one can use.

5. And here's my issue with your argument. It does not mean that it's most likely coming nx, only that it's more likely than it was before. Saying "most likely" is also jumping to conclusions.

Wrong, Metal Gear started on MSX2 (Metal Gear games on NES weren't made by Kojima and are not counted in the Metal Gear chronology) and Twin Snake is just a remake of Metal Gear Solid published first on PSX. Thus this character is not so linked to Nintendo.

Furthermore, isn't an insider already said that FFVIIR exclusivity would be like SFV exclusivity ? (if somenone can confirm or infirm this please).

I'm not against a FFVIIR multiplat, but generally this kind of unfounded rumors brings many expectations that ultimately becomes disappointment when it doesn't happen.

Major appearance on nintendo consoles vs basically no appearance in cloud's case.

Square was very clear multiple times that it's a timed exclusive.

But timed exclusive doesn't mean it will release on more than 2 platforms.

PC and PS4 are currently the only platforms for this game officially.

If the appearance of Cloud in SSB means something (I won't say so, time will tell if I'm wrong), it could also be linked to KH3 for exemple, Cloud is a (guest) character of this universe too.

It's not an exclusive, sony would be screaming exclusivity if it was. So it can go to any platform SE wants.

PC version was confirmed?

Oh well, after searching for a source, I can't find any. I thought that was announced during E3 >.> (perhaps beacause of the declaration of the supposed insider on an SFV exclusivity-like)

Sorry for my mistake ^^"

But the first version of FF7 is on PC, so it would be logical to see the remastered version here too.

You asked what made me assume that Square Enix was talking about the PS4 version of DQXI in regards to the NX? Well, what other version is it going to be ported from?  The 3DS version?  I don't think that little of what the NX will actually be.

I don't understand how an Xbox one port makes it a stronger case that there won't be an NX port.  That just means to me that Square Enix is more than willing to port to other platforms if there's an audience, it can run the game and there's relative ease in the porting process.  Even if they're starting to drop xbox one support, that actually gives me a stronger argument that they'll likely port to the NX as long as it can handle it and porting to it isn't a headache since they'll need another platform to make up for the lost income from the xbox one -- plus, Nintendo platforms still have strong JRPG audiences and Japanese support -- and if Nintendo can find a way to make console games run at a smaller resolution on handhelds (which is what's kind of being hinted at with the unified library rumors) then Square Enix and every Japanese 3rd party are going to support the hell out of it.

In the end, it doesn't really matter if any of us are right or wrong but it's fun to speculate on stuff like this.

We have no idea on the NX specs when it comes to the handheld version. For all we know it will just be a slighty better Vita and the cost to downgrade the game will be greater than the cost to just moce across and spruce up the 3DS version.

My comment was in the lack of porting from SE t the X1 as a whole, especially in light of its positive Western sales. There is no lost income from not releasing an X1 version: porting is not dirt cheap, and there still licensing and marketting fees etc to take into account.

Also I would disagree with Nintendo having strong Japanese support. WiiU support from JPN is pretty poor, and even the 3DS has far less support from Japan than the 3DS or PSP ever had. If anything, the Vita has far more support (though mostly in newer and less selling IPs). Honestly, if it wasn't for MH, YW and DQ, 3DS JPN support would be pretty much lackluster at this point.

I think most devs are not going to support the device if it doesn't sell: which is pretty much key to any support. After all, the 3DS was a pretty competetively selling device and failed to attract large JPN support. Sure, SE will probably jump on the bandwagon early to see what they can achieve, but it is just as likely that they play a more cautious game and see how NX does in the first few months.

The important thing is that Nintendo can convince them that support is worth it for SE.

(and yes, speculation is fun!)

There's no handheld version but the 3ds successor will be leaps and bounds above psvita in terms of hardware. It's kinda impossible for the opposite to happen.

I see no reason why the NX console won't get a few late ports. The Wii U did after all. it may well be more powerful but that didn't work out for them in the past so I doubt it will work vs the ps4.

1/2. Your words don't leave room for interpretation. Why would square want nintendo gamers to become what they already are? And considering all the factors, the chances are huge that Cloud in smash means something big.

3. It is a big presence, enough to make then want snake in melee but had no time.

4. Back to pulling at pulling at straws. Many street fighter games released on nintendo platforms, including the most recent one. You can't ignore that. You also can't compare two minor appearances in kingdom hearts and FF explorers as qualification to enter smash bros. Each and every third party character that entered smash had major appearances on nintendo platforms. Cloud doesn't, that's why it must mean something.

5. If there's a lot of evidence saying so, it is most likely coming.
