Forums - Nintendo - If NX had a shared library but they were NOT integrated to use together, which of the systems would you buy?

Which NX hardware would you buy?

Home console 43 49.43%

Handheld console 11 12.64%

Neither 4 4.60%

Console, but that's because I prefer playing video games in a comfortable manner. I can see a lot of xbone/PS4/PC owners buying a NX as a secondary gaming device and that's where I think Nintendo will receive a significant amount of their hardware sales from if there is a unified library. The temptation of having a device that gives you the entire Nintendo experience without having to buy two devices would be too much to pass up for a lot of people -- especially if the handheld version is strong and priced well.

I own neither a Wii U or 3DS. I have pretty much no interest in Nintendo home console franchises other than Zelda and perhaps Metroid. However, I am interested in some 3DS series, like Fire Emblem, but I don't really like the 3DS hardware very much and I honestly don't want another handheld.

A Nintendo home console that has all of the handheld games would be the option that gets my attention the most. It's probably the main thing Nintendo can do to regain my interest, to be honest.

So you have no other interest in Nintendo beyond Metroid (maybe) and Zelda, but you also might be interested in Fire Emblem?... I just think Nintendo consoles might not be for you...

I would definitely buy the home console, but I'm not too sure regarding the handheld.

I would get the console first and eventually pick up the handheld but if the handheld launches before the console like the 3ds i will get that first like i did this gen.

I'm not really sure what you mean.  As a I said, I'm more interested in the games on the 3DS but I would prefer a home console, so a unified library has my attention.  Why do you disagree?

Id be disappointed in nintendo..... and I would get 1 of the 2, instead of maybe both.
And... really with how the Wii U went, Im not 100% sold on the NX yet, need to see what games it gets.

Honestly might just get the handheld then.

Leave the heavy gameing for the planned PS4.

I can see how this would attract people. Cheaper option all the way around (HH console beong cheaper than HC, as well as the games being cheaper). And whatever you might be missing as far as graphics and effects, if the story and cutscenes of the game were that good, you could always just look up the "movies" that are uploaded to youtube.

I was just saying that's not a lot of games to be spending hundreds on a console for... 3 series.

I was wandering if people actually still use both in the purpose they were intended. Though I still feel most people just game at home and own a handheld simply because of the seperate games. Figured there are some that do.

If the handheld and home console both utilize the same game format which saves internally on the rumored cartridge, it would simply be up to your own personal needs. If you are playing Super Mario Galaxy 3 at home and you leave for a family dinner or something at a restaurant, you can save and take it on the handheld unit and go right back from where you left off. I would definitely get both and use them according to my situation.

Would certainly be convenient for those of us that take their games on the road.
