PC isn't really going to hurt. People who want an Xbox one will get one regardless. Its evident that for now, not many people are interested in it compared to the PS4.

Its also evident that lack of true exclusives doesn't really matter. Sony knew this, which is why 99/9% of the reason to own a PS4 is ''superior'' multiplatform games.

Its simply a win win for gamers.

Exclusives indeed sell consoles, the Third best selling game on Xbox One, is GTA V, with 4.19 Millions The Last of Us Remaster, sold 4.21 Millions, and Uncharted 4, will sell more than the previous tittles because is the last in the series, so some Exclusives sell more on Playstation 4, than Multiplataform on Xbox One, People buy consoles for different exclusives, because of that Multiplataform sometimes sell more.

Look at Xbox One, Halo, and Forza, are well placed in the Rank, because those people purchase Xbox One, because of a Small number of Exclusives, While the majority purchased Playstation 4, for different tittles, the Multiplataform just gather the atention of those people.

Here is what VG Chart tracked about exclusives Published by Sony, and Microsoft, lets see how much each one sold on Next gen consoles.

Sony, have sold  28.8 Millions of Software that they Published for Playstation 4.

Microsoft, have sold 19.8 Millions of Software that they published, but Microsoft, released their Biggest tittle, while Sony, will only Release Uncharted this Year, and Gran Turismo, on the last Quarter, or early 2017.

Do you think that Xbox One, would sell more if their exclusives were avaliable on PC ?, Sony, also get a lot of Third Party exclusives, the Most Xbox One's Third party exclusives are published by Microsoft, while on Playstation 4, is published by Bandai, Sega, and Square.

Now you have a Lot of exclusives sold, if Each one of the Owners purchased for a Different Exclusive ?, and some for Future exclusives like Uncharted, Gears of War ?, Exclusies is what Sell consoles and is what open the doors for Multiplataform Tittles, you know that can Play Multiplataform Anywhere, so what you chose to pick your Console, are the Exclusives.

I have to disagree. Microsoft stated many times already that they want to make XB1 last as long as possible. They like long term consoles (like Sony) and will probably support if for a long time. I mean, the XB1 might not be leading the generation, but it's still healthy and selling decently well. They could carry on this moment for more 3 or 4 years without major problems (like they did with X360, which started much worse).

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

2018 is the earliest they would release it. I remember they did proto runs for the Xbox One about a year before release and I don't think they are in proto runs yet. They are probably still shopping around for specs right now.

I still think the X2 will just be a BEEFED up. X1. Supporting 4k.. 16GB RAM.. 2TB HD.. it will play ALL X1 games and upscale them.. but then offer 4k gaming.. likely hitting 2019.. probably with VR support. Newer games will ALSO work on X1 and X2.. having a LOW and HIGH setting (similar to PC graphics cards). So you buy an Xbox game.. and on the X1 it will run 900p/60FPS. but on the X2 it will be 4k/60FPS.. more of an evolutional update... and that would be the last Xbox. (it will also still support X360 games). It will also still come with Kinect.. as it will be utilized for VR headset..

Predictions on 12/01/15 - Generation 8 Totals:

PS4: 85-95m
X1: 55-65m
WiiU: 20-30m

Yes, they can release the Xbox 2 in 2017 but they are still 2 behind.
What they really need to do is release a new xbox every year until 2020 so they will get the xbox 5 out in time to compete with the PS5.

Right before releasing the Xbox 5 they can do a secret reveal that it is really Xbox 7 thus jumping ahead of PS.

Yes, of course MisterXmedia has already predicted all of this....

At this point of course " the Cloud" will be out of date. They will have moved on to "the fog". It surrounds us all.

Xbox will eventually be a cross platform service where hardware is almost irrelevant. As will all gaming eventually.

This.

Launching last quarter of 2019, or presenting in e3 2019 and launching 2020. If they want to compete with Steam they need to stablish:

1) New Franchises: the library of steam is unreacheable for microsoft at least short term. They need atractive exclusives, and Halo & Gears is not enough, they need more, and they only can count on Xbox brand to do that.
2) The cross buy and cross play as a trend feature, and they only count with Xbox to do that.
3) Xbox Live Gold as a suscription service popular on PC, they need mantain the popularity of the service on consoles to gain the PC market.

By the way they are not going to give up with a platform that is profitable in many ways, no matter what Sony is selling. Xbox is essential to Microsoft as a Company.

Halo and Gears (and Forza) ARE the Xbox brand... and it's definitely not enough.

If this was the case, surely attach ratio for those games should be close to 100%? They are the flagships of the brand. But I agree, MS needs more.
