Aye? The Jan 2015 NPD thread says 192K. Sure it's only 3K but where's 189K from? |
Apparently it's a more accurate estimate that someone on GAF got from a PM that wasn't shared at the time.

Though I didn't really expect more so I guess it depends how far from 150 it is Sony PR says impressive YoY growth... Smart enough to not give a %, unfortunately for us. |
My guess is the star wars effect. Lotsa kids would have demanded the Star Wars PS4 bundle for Christmas, and they are the Lego game buyers, so the younger gamer demographic install base is now bigger on PS4. And given PS4 has the over all larger install base this means Lego games should now reliably do better on PS4.

Not only do they have marketing, they also have exclusive content. The upcoming Star Wars lego game will also have exclusive content for PlayStation platforms. |
Very interesting. Like I said, I think this might be a smart move by Sony.

The game will start to chart only on 8-9 on the Top 10, until 2020, then they will release a Remaster of the Remaster for the next gen, and will top the Chartz until 2025.

| jason1637 said: interesting seeingh games with marketing doing better on the opposite system. Battlefront and CoD has sony marketing but sold better on xb1. While fallout and fifa/madden did better on ps4 with ms marketing. It seems that sonys lego marketing. worked while ms rainbow 6 marketing worked. |
The NPD numbers only count sales of standalone physical copies of games, NOT copies that are part of a console bundle or downloaded.
So it actually makes sense that there would be a higher number of phyiscal copies sold on the platform that DIDN'T have a console bundle for that game.

A reliable source contacted Welfare and corrected the 192k
The PS5 Exists.

Could be 2017... depends on when they cut prices & slim model release, if both happend in 2016, that might be the peak, else I think 2017 will be bigger.

Its also a bit odd considering MS is still selling the lego movie xb1 bundle.

How does that sense? In most cases the physical copies of a game would sell better on the platform with a higher userbase.

True. NPd doesn't count bundle so at least BO3 should have sold better on ps4 with bundle. That bundle was the primary bundle according to Amazon the whole month
Seems like VGC really made crazy prediction for the month. And we say it's reliable because LTD is close. To think that on the crazy months of the holidays they got it right.
