TBH the "lol" in the first tweet is pretty unprofessional for someone who wants to get a rep for being an authority on video game industry sales and analysis. And if you want to be a somewhat objective analist of the video game industry then the bottom dropping out of Xb one in its most important market is a concern for the health of the industry, not a joke.

Kinda, but wasn't 2008 the year in which the 360 sales exploded? I'm too lazy to look that up, but it definitely had a slow start in its first 1-2 years or something. =D |
no it did not explode in that year
it was the kinect year 2010
0.6 first year (not full)
3.9 second year
4.6 third year
4.7 fourth year
4.8 fifth year
6.8 sixt year
7.3 sevent year

no. only in in some slow months 0.6 vs 1.8 up 200% .... 9.1 vs 11.1 up 22% |
Good, if the 2 had the same launch sales, Xbox One, still 800 Thousands units ahead, and Xbox 360, was nearly flat in the Xbox 360's third year on USA ?.

It mostly exploded globally in the later half of the year when it got a price cut. But yes, over all 2008 was the year that 360 actually start to look like it would sell well outside the USA. While Xb one might end 2016 relatively flat with 360 in the USA more than likely it will wind up substantially down worldwide to the point where global LTD finally falls behind 360.

So the PS4 has started to outsell XBox One at 2:1 even in Nort America now?
Is this a new trend or is it just normal for non-Holiday season?

yes. with same launch sales, the xbox one would sill be ahead 0.8m over the x360
and yes, the xb360 sales in the us were basically flat in the third, fourth and fifth year
they year afther kinect got released and they introduced the slim modell and sales increased dramatically.

Actually, the 360S did a lot more for sales than the Kinect did. The big sales boost in 2010 began with the release of the former, while the latter didn't seem to do much in the way of moving additional hardware. |
yeah, i often forget about that.
the first slim modell for the xbox one should do wonders.
just like the ps3 slim did

I imagine it will only get worse from here on out. As more and more people are on PS4, their friends will want to get a PS4 too, becaus of how important online gaming and all that stuff is today. Add to that the fact that more and more X1 exclusives are coming to PC and every chance to put up anything even remotely close to a battle against the PS4 goes right out of the windows. (pun intended)

Its not really normal nor is it a trend since this is like the 2nd or third time this has happened(not 100% sure).
This is something that just happened due to January being a snow month.
