“After a record-breaking holiday, 2016 is off to a great start with continued growth in Xbox Live on the strength of the unmatched lineup of games available on Xbox One. In January, the total number of hours spent gaming in one month on Xbox One worldwide surpassed 1 billion hours. Looking ahead to this spring, fans can enjoy more great games with the upcoming releases of ‘Quantum Break,’ ‘Rocket League’ and ‘Tom Clancy’s The Division.’ We can’t thank our fans enough for their continued support and passion for Xbox, and we’re looking forward to bringing more of the games and experiences our fans want most in 2016.” – Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President, Xbox Marketing, Microsoft

Seems like VGC really made crazy prediction for the month. And we say it's reliable because LTD is close. To think that on the crazy months of the holidays they got it right.

For PS4 VGC has been constantly undertracking. Perhaps ioi has adjusted up his sales coefficient for PS4 in his prediction model but has no overshot a bit. Dunno why all the others would be overtracked though.

Could be, but I looked just at PS4 102% increase, the others even if overtracked wasn't so ridiculously off.

Well you know things have to be pretty bad if the PR for January makes significant reference to last year and you have to extend to worldwide stats to come up with anything meaningful about January for an NPD PR.

1 billion hours gaming on Xb one globally = 51 hrs per console = 1.65hrs per console per day. That might be a fairly high daily average, but it doesn't seem like much to brag about.

1 Billion of Hours ?, a Research said that Console palyers spend over 3 Hours per day playing, in 1 month of 31 Days, 1 Billions of hours played, so Microsoft, sold 11.5 Millions of Xbox One, just something behind Wii U (Just Kiding, is impossible to Track, but is not the 20 Millions that VG Chartz, says).

VGC might be right about the sales ratio (2:1) just wrong about the actual number. PS4 250-300K, Xb one <125K

Pretty bad for the industry except for PS4. It seems january has shifted most of its sales to february and the holidays.
