Forums - Nintendo - Should Nintendo make a "The Super Mario Collection"

SMB1 through SMB Galaxy 2 would be a great disc... although I find playing the original NES and SNES Mario's horrible on newer TV's because of the controller and input lag. Those games are meant to be played on a CRT with their original controller.

But I'm sure kids wouldn't care.

Don't really think so, because most of the 3D Mario games can be played on the Wii U already..

If they really wanted to, they could remaster Galaxy or Galaxy 2 but I would prefer if that they make a new game

Not now at least, since they might be making a new Mario game.

Every single Mario game sells well on its own. Why would they lump them all together?

EAD Tokyo should have a new 3D Mario game ready for launch, so why bother with a collection? To be more accurate though, if Zelda U releases also for NX, then EAD Tokyo will get at least a couple of extra months to finish their game.

And to be even more accurate, I can't see Nintendo putting four games into one package. Too much effort to remaster that many games by today's standards (Super Mario All-Stars happened during a time when it didn't demand a lot of resources), plus people would be willing to pay more than $15 per game anyway.

I truly believe they'll have both ready for their next system's launch; just Zelda would be not enough. I know there will be other minor games, but probably nothing as big as a 3D Mario.

OP: Nah, I don't think this is needed right now or in the near future.

Zelda and 3D Mario at launch would be great! Then they can have something like Pikmin 4 in December or February.

What? A remaster of a Mario game? Are you serious? They only release Mario games and you want them to start remastering those?
Ok, I was just kidding xD But I see people complaining and saying that Nintendo only releases Mario games everytime.
I would love them to remaster Mario games, specially Super Mario World (or maybe I´m just thinking of a remake, almost the same game, with stunning visuals but with new things, like new worlds and levels, enemies, bosses, playable characters...).
It´s a great idea and I hope they start doing it with the NX, but please, avoid New! series for a while.
Though I guess you´re referring to the 3D games, because all 2D games got remastered at some point, right? The gba games count as remasters, don´t they?
