Tropical freeze has a perfect balance, it can make you die hundreds of times yet it never makes you give up, is one great exemple of challenge well done. I also think is better than Returns. Both are great, but TP is a classic in my books.

See, for me DKCR had the exact same feeling, that stiff but fair challenge that made me always want to try again. Gameplay wise they are equally great in my mind, so the difference just comes down to TF's better score and visuals.

I found TP way more challenging and I think it has more memorable levels too. Is like country returns but more refined and more oriented to the hardcore Nintendo player, Returns was "easy" compared to the originals, TP nope. Both are great thats for sure.

I found their difficulty level about equal myself. And I thought DKCR had many memorable levels; the giant octopus, muncher marathon, the silhouette volcano level with Rambi...

I love "Tropical Freeze". One of my top 5 Wii U games, for sure.

I love DKC Tropical Freeze, but it's so painful.

I'm not a huge 2D Platformer fan but I really enjoyed Tropical Freeze.

You've convinced me to give it another go. I finished it once apart from the bonus levels. It wasn't Metroid, so it sucked in my book. But I'm over that now so I'll give it another crack.

Oh and btw, yes, it is one of the best soundtracks of this gen in my opinion too, nothing less than superb in that regard.
