First they named themselves Bros, then they became Nintendo. Slippery slope, people.

So they are more or less copying Nintendo?

Not comparable. I'd argue this as being more Sony-like.

Because Sony is known for threatening legal action through Youtube and implementing forced reseller deals?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Is this similar to Sony trying to trademark Let's Play?

Sony were trade marking to create a campaign similar to Greatness Awaits. It would have made little to no difference, unless Sony would have gone full dwerp, which is quite unlikely.

So the YouTubers wouldn't have had to pay Sony to use it?

No, it was going to be like the strap line they use in adverts and marketing like #Greatness Awaits & #this is for the players.

I think people were worried in case Sony went all crazy and did do that. Oddly enough, Sony lost the filing because someone already has a similar trademark. In other words, someone already has the foundations of making that nightmare become a reality.

No, because the Fine Brothers tried to trademark "x React" similar to Sony's attempt to trademark "Let's Play"

How do you know this?

Can't wait for them to sue Kim Jong Un for reacting to things.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’
