because its the ultimate gaming console. enough said.

Is that a trick question? The PS4's game library is more diverse, has more exclusives and the playstation brand is a lot stronger than xbox. I could go on and on with more reasons.

With that definition then clearly a nope.

Well, I only owned Nintendo consoles until this gen & I chose PS4.

Reasons:

-Liked the 1st party better (Based on past consoles, saw LBP3)
-Knew they would have exclusive Japanese games
-It was selling better which would eventually lead to more exclusive games
-Liked that the controller has a touch pad (The XB1 controller is probably better overall tho)
-I had more faith in the PS brand after seeing how long they supported PS3 + 360's RROD crap didn't help

With all this said, this was only for this gen. I'm not counting XB out in the future

In Australia the PS4 was $50 more and still is though. 

People can be quite subjective when it comes to platforms. But the main things I see are what games are available and what console one's friend owns. With local multiplayer disappearing, many are looking to connect online so console differentiation between friends is going down as well.
