YouTube usually has some of the worst comments. Plus there are probably more trolls on YouTube then any other website. Close second would probably be any article posted on Yahoo especially Yahoo News.

Me too generally, and the one time I went against that rule, i got The Force Awakens spoiled. And it was on a completely unrelated video! Someone were having an argument and one of the dudes got so mad that was the best he could come up with. I got pretty pissed because of that, but I suppose I only have myself to blame, after all, I was the one that scrolled down to the comments. :-/

Even pewdiepie hates the comments and on ocassion will turn them off or make a video telling his viewers how horrible they make him feel. You can turn them off, but I think a bunch of views come from people coming back to reply to something horrible another human said.

I rarely check their comments section anymore. The video service is fantastic in a lot of ways, but they certainly attract the nutbags like few others. The only comments I tend to read there now are on their how-to videos, where you can sometimes find useful clarifications if there are any remaining questions.

The YouTube comments section is regularly cancerous. I don't get offended because that would imply that whatever action is having a direct effect on you or your emotions Really, the two things I hate most in life are unwarranted stupidity/ignorance and injustice. I've seen rationally critical YouTube comments, with the replies to it being "kill urself" or horrible name calling. I've never seen anything that bad on reddit.

4chan isn't even as bad. It's a secluded community focused on obtaining "the lulz", which, unless you hate memes, has never produced much cancer for us on the outside.
