Forums - Nintendo - Why Is There Like Zero Attention About the 3DS Successor?

Because people falsely believe that the NX will be both console and handheld.

Yeah it's ugly out there.

Even in Japan, and I travelled pretty much exclusively on the subway for 1-2 hours every day for a good 10 days in Tokyo ... it's actually kinda eerie, what you'll see if the subway is very quiet, but you look to your left and it's like a row of 50 people just staring down at their phone. Look to your right and it's the same thing, lol.

Bit off topic, but interesting you say this, because the ugly side of the impact of smartphones (along with social media) goes far beyond just dedicated gaming devices.I swear it´s like so many people, especially the new generation, are slowly forgetting how to even have a decent, face to face interaction with another human being, with a good part of the communication being through Facebook, etc..and so many people spend so much time just staring down at their phones.

I see it all the time, every day...in restaurants, tables with 10 people and half of them are just hypnotized by their phones, at family/friends gatherings, same thing, and so on.

Once my current phone is paid off, I'm downgrading to a basic talk/text phone for this exact reason. Smartphones are super convenient but it's gotten to the point where they are TOO convenient, I find myself on my phone way more than I should doing pointless things when there are better and more important things I could be doing.

Yeah man, all this phone/social media combo is truly a modern version of bread and circus for the masses.

He's right though.

Nintendo's decision making over the last five years has been so utterly terrible that your average forum going gamer probably could have done a better job. For one thing, we're not as completely out of touch with today's gaming market as Nintendo seems to be.

No they wouldn't otherwise they wouldn't be posting on a forum, that's egotistical thinking at it's highest, you lot on a forum for a start have little vision of the whole picture in running a business and think a company can just do this and that. The fact that you think someone posting on a forum can do the job is quite frankly beyond laughable.

Nintendo's management over the last 5 years has been so unbelievably terrible that it would almost be hard not to do better.

They show zero understanding of today's console market and are so stuck in the past that they're constantly doing things that everyone but them can see is a bad idea.

Yeah it is what it is the world has definitely changed. Even in my circle of friends I have a buddy who's terrible for this, during a 2 hour dinner/drinks he'll maybe look up from his phone for a total of 15 minutes.

Teenagers ... are the worst though I think. Christmas dinner, all the teens are just staring down at their phone the whole time.

How ever off they are in their understanding both yours and his posts were gob smackingly stupid to suggest what it did, you're on a forum and not running a platform holder for a reason. It's the most egotistical post anyone can even try to push, you're criticizing from the hindsight and with out the full picture of how running a business as a platform holder.

To even suggest you're better qualified is laughable no two ways about it, both of you will be telling us you're better qualified to run the government or solve economic issues next.

Anyone with a basic understanding of today's gaming scene could have made better calls than Nintendo have this generation.

The company is run by suits who not only have no idea what a console gamer in 2012-2016 wants, but show no willingness to even learn.

You can't snip with the fingers during a generation and suddenly have everything turn around. Your claim that Nintendo has no willingness to learn could only be proven true if you were sitting on a mountain of insider knowledge at this point; but you aren't, so it's just an expression of frustration.

When has Nintendo ever shown any sign that they understand their mistakes and are willing to change? Their alienation of the gaming mainstream continues.  The bad PR continues. Pretty much every problem that caused the Wii U's failure continues with no sign that they even recognize where they went wrong.
