Forums - Gaming - Remedy Staffing Up for New AAA Project

While no details are known about the new project from the creators of Max Payne, Alan Wake and the upcoming Quantum Break, one can only speculate what the new project could be. With the current resurgence of horror games in the AAA sphere, could we see a follow-up to critically acclaimed Alan Wake? Only time will tell.

Alan Wake is my favorite game from 7th gen!

I really want Remedy to start working on Alan Wake 2 after Quantum Break.

They have been hinting at Alan Wake 2 for awhile now so thats what I am expecting. They even put Alan Wake easter eggs in Quantum Break.

This studio is really talented. If MS had any sense they would of snapped them up years ago.

I love Remedy, i don't understand why they limit themselves to release games just for Xbox. They are an independent studio.

Problem is they don't want to be bought, Remedy would be a solid pickup though

I think MS has a deal with them.

Because they don't have the fundings to develop those big AAA games by themselves, and MSoft is the one that has given them the money to do them.

OT: I find it a bit weird to hear that they are hiring. Can't they just keep the same personal from Quantum Break to develop the next game? Or it's that they want to start working on the next game while finishing Quantum Break? But then, what will happen to those working on QB once it's done?

I don't know, I find it a bit odd.

All their games (and likely QB) are on PC, just because they're independent doesn't mean there's no benefits with partnering up. You get funding, dev help, promotions, etc. Plenty of studios do it, look at Quantic Dream.

There strongest ties are with Xbox and PC, they don't release on any other console so unless they do an 'Insomniac' they might as well be under the wing of MS. But I understand why they would stay independent, it gives them a lot more freedom even if it's less secure.
