Forums - Nintendo - What If Nintendo Is Prepping A Netflix Style Game Service?

Make it an 8 bucks for month thing. Let it be with the NX as well.

Access to games from NES-GCN and Gameboy-Gameboy Advanced.

It'd be a cool thing. Virtual console games cost too much(no one is paying 5-8 bucks for an old game you can get online). Nintendo could actually gain more profit if they did that

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

I'd rather them make something more like Steam. I support streaming, and use it for movies and music but I don't think gaming is quite ready for streaming yet. Especially for brand new games. They would be too demanding. They could do streaming for older games like PS Now tho.

Although, if it's just an option and not the only way to play said games I wouldn't be against it

$10 per month sounds way too cheap.

I also just don't think streaming would be a viable option for Nintendo, considering there online servers atm aren't the best, and they would have to do some major upgrades.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

As long as I can Download them but need Internet to confirm I can use it I'd be down with a Nintendo EA access thing but all the games are free and you pay £20 $30 a month

2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

I am really not interested at all in a gaming streaming service. There are just too many variables and possible problems with it. Plus I am one of those gamers who still actually values buying/owning real physical copies of retail games for my collection.

I wouldn't be AGAINST the concept for VC I guess...but honestly, I'd rather just keep the VC the way it is, with lower prices.

I'll wager that this isn't happening and any kind of cloud compute being used will come in another form.

For starters a PSNow style streaming service would be redundant as a means for virtual console given the fact that old school snes games are like 10 megabytes. It makes no sense why Nintendo would rather risk their reputation with the quality of such a service when it would be marginally easier, more reliable and cheaper on both ends to just offer digital downloads. Given all the emus already available on droid, and just about everything else, the R&D for Nintendo vc is practically non existent. From a business stand point what you suggest wouldn't make much sense for me and I don't think the new CEO is willing to pursue these new levels of profit at the risk of its consumer base.

I could definitely be wrong though.

What do you consider good internet, GeForce now recommends 40Mbits for 30fps/720p. Based on this, fucking terrible idea.

So i pay like $200 for a device and then $8 a month to play on my device? No thank you.

No you'd pay more like $70-$80 for the controller/receiver and that's it for hardware.

That spells flop all over. It wont succeed. The thing about Netflix and PSNOW is that there on lots of devices. PSNOW is on ps4 and on sony tvs. While Netflix is on anything.

This could be on multiple devices too. AppleTV, iPad, iPhone, Android devices, Wii U, 3DS, physical NX hardware ... hell maybe even PS4 and XB1 (maybe this is where the chatter about NX working with PS4 is coming from?).

There's nothing really stopping it from doing that.
