Cool footage. But what about Twilight Princess HD?

I can't understand how can people compare dolphin with this tp hd. What are the specs needed to play that game on dolphin? Aren't they far higher than a wii u? It's like comparing a beetle with a bmw. I think the game looks great, though I still hate the tree models in hyrule field, god they look awful even in hd xD

Learning how emulators work and why such (relatively) powerful PCs are needed to accurately emulate old hardware would go a long way in helping you understand that.

There are plenty of games on WiiU that look much, much better than this TP HD remaster or even Dolphin - comparing remaster with Dolphin versions is to show how little effort Nintendo has actually put into it.

Looks better compared to what?

Wii/GC? Most certainly.

Compared to Dolphin with texture packs? Mixed bag, depends on area and subjective preference of particular textures.

Compared to remake those guys are working on in Ishiiruka Dolphin fork with custom improvements? One would expect Nintendo at least making it that good, but alas....

This is the perfect example of a completely bad and ugly graphics overhaul. Twilight Princess isn't supposed to look like this at all, this completely ruins the original art direction.

They certainly did a fantastic job with improving the textures.

It's a shame they didn't enhance at least some of the character models and parts of the environments though.
The beautiful textures somehow make some of the faults in the geometry more obvious imo.
For example the castle entrance just look as if they literally taped 'stone' wallpaper to a block of concrete. In instances like that a little bit of an improvement maybe a little bumb mapping would be much appreciated. It's the juxtaposiotion of low-poly count with realistic textures that makes it look so wierd.
In the more confined, inside areas it looks georgeous though, as the poly-count issues arent as obvious.

I get why they decided to do Wind Waker first, that art style is timeless and will always shine. A more realistic art style demands more polys, imo.

Well, could you explain to me if the specs needed to perfectly emulate TP in Dolphin are actually higher than a wii u or not? Because as I´m no expert I would love to know it. All I know is what I´ve read on forums, and it looks like there needs to be a powerful computer to play the games. I would love to replay Xenoblade Chronicles with all the packs installed, but as my laptop is six years old I read it was useless for this.

Actually, we agree on this topic, I also think this wasn´t the best remaster of the world, and I agree that they could have done a lot better than this, but I don´t know how lazy they´ve been with this.

But as you seem to know the answer, wouldn´t it be easier to remaster TP with a powerful pc rather than for the wii u? Or is it more like how much time and effort they put into the game? Is it hardware related or time/effort related? I´ve always wondered this kind of things :P

Another case of nostalgic amnesia

You guys need something to fix your memory, time makes us remember things way more petty than they were. But relity is another story.

If I didn't play this game two or three years ago, I'd buy it, but it's too soon for me.

I finished TP HD on Dolphin three-four years ago, why should I be excited now? WW HD doesn't looks like a gamecube game. TPHD looks like gamecube game pretend to be HD.

Windwaker and Skyward Sword styles perfect fit with high resolution. Why they chosen ugly Princess for remastering?

1- The game needed an update because is so blurry is hard to play
2- The game is already 10 years old
3- Is the 30th anniversary of zelda and TP is the best selling zelda ever

The thing is that it's just upgraded textures and more polygons. The art-style and I guess overall looks are the same, so of course people are saying it's lazy and stuff. WW HD just had a change in its engine to look overall shinier and bloomy, I suppose.

I'm not getting it either way, already have TP for the Wii :/

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
