Forums - Nintendo - Metroid Federation Force looks fun but I'm not getting it to teach Nintendo a lesson!

I have to admit I don't get the logic behind this. In order to show Nintendo that you want a true Metroid game, you won't buy a Metroid game. How exactly will that make it more likely to get a new Metroid game?

I understand people who were disappointed by this game as it doesn't feature Samus, but not buying it will not send the message you want to send. Especially if the game turns out to be good. If a good Metroid game won't sell, then what are the chances of Nintendo to keep making more of them?

Ewww....@darwin... I thought it was a Wii U game. No thanks.

How could you not know that it was a 3DS game? This game set the whole internet on fire for a few days!

Also, am I the only one who thinks this is Nintendo's answer to Rocket League? Football-like game with weird tech and over the top action? Coincidence?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I think I've never seen a video with more dislikes than this one. xD

This game was butchered when they announced it. I don't think it looks that bad, if another traditional Metroid was announced at the same time, people wouldn't be so crazy about it lol. It's not the worst thing ever.

Anyone have an updated trailer? I thought it was hated and I have no memory of it.

the fact is that the only thing we saw about it was the E3 trailer and the Nintendo World championships footage of blast ball...

Wait, yea... In what way!?

Yes, because the thousands of people who signed petitions, disliked videos, opened threads and so on aren't Metroid fans, but just haters that don't care about the Metroid Franchise and decided to hate on a single bad game instead of others...

I wouldn't say they are a bunch of haters and that they're not Metroid fans. But I can say without any regrets that the people who signed the petition to cancel it are a bunch of shameless idiots who don't respect the work of an studio (Next Level) that is probably really excited for working in a series so important as Metroid. They're probably doing their best in this spin off and all they get is undeserved disrespect, hate and a petition to throw all their work out of the window. That, in my opinion, is something horrible. I understand people who don't like the game, but there are some limits to plain disappointment for a flippin game.

That being said, even if all the hate the game is getting really means that fans want a real Metroid game, its Nintendo we're talking about. They live in their own little world with candies and puppies. They're not going to see it they way you want. And even if they do, they will ignore it, because they"re not going to allow some people on the internet to have power on their own decisions.

I'm going to buy two copies just to anger Metroid fans. Seriously I'll laugh if the game turns out to be a blast.

The sad thing is the game might be good but because of the name, it's suffering a massive backlash.

Those dislikes tho. Haha

This is the cycle. Fans hate game. Fans don't buy game. Company deems failure. Series goes away for a bit. Company remembers their line up. Makes new game on what works. We win. It just take a decade. I'd rather the series be not be made for 5-10 years. Than buy into what I don't want. I deal with this, with comics, all the time. I'll stop buying what becomes crap. Eventually, everything will go back to what people want.

You just made a thread about how you are going to buy Twilight Princess HD. So much for your plan to not give Nintendo any money.

I say that you should do a full boycott. That doesn't just mean that you won't give Nintendo any money, but also that you won't give them any attention anymore. Shun them with complete indifference. That's the way to go.

Then they won't be able to afford a traditional Metroid Prime.
