Nintendo isn't going to remaster Wii U titles to bolster the library of its next console. Lol. There are a group of people actually saying this stuff?

I dunno if it's so much to bolster the library per se as it is that there's plenty of good games on the Wii U that were criminally overlooked because the system didn't sell well.

Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade X, etc. etc. that I think Nintendo would want to double dip on with the NX.

Like 75-80% of Nintendo hardware owners this gen were 3DS-only (no Wii U) ... that's a lot of people that didn't get a chance to play these games.

if they want to play them, they can buy a wii u. they have every chance in the world. nintendo isnt going to "remaster" any game that is on the wii u for their next console. theyre going to make NEW games that are going to take advantage of the NEW hardware.

I'm sure the NX will be at least digitally BC with the WiiU, so those games are a non-issue in my opinion. With Nintendo needing more people on their developement team, I won't be surprised if Tantalus is fully absorbed by Nintendo in the future. After all, they need more western devs.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

BluePoint has been really good for sony.
Why wouldnt nintendo want someone like that for themselves as well?

edit

Maybe Tantalus will be the Bluepoint of Nintendo.

They're never going to buy a Wii U.

Nintendo probably spent a fairly hefty budget on some of these games too as HD development is not cheap (Xenoblade was in development for like 3 1/2+ years alone).

Sure NX will have NEW games, but the universe isn't going to implode on itself if some people get to play some games they missed out on Wii U. Wii U is a very niche console, very few people bought it, that's simply the reality of the situation and Nintendo put a lot of effort into many of the Wii U software titles.

Console remasters are likely to be a staple of all system libraries going forward anyway, we're seeing it all the time on the PS4 and XB1 too and Nintendo is doing it as well (really they have been since the SNES days so it's nothing that new).

If NX dont have BC, NIntendo could just port some Wii U games to NX, no need for remaster, on other hand remaster of some Wii and GC games would be much more effective.

I dont think Nintendo will remastere Wii U titles for NX, I think they will just port some of them if NX dont have BC, but Tantalus definatly could remastere more Wii and some GC titles for NX.

We could use some remasters from the GC-Wii era. I'm sure Eternal Darkness, Disaster Day of Crisis and the Sin & Punushement series could use an HD revision. WiiU games look great as it is.

Exactly and totally agree, Wii U games look great as their now, but Wii-GC games look pretty bad today, games like Mario Galaxy, Skyward Sword, Metroid Trilogy, Pikmin 1/2, Mario Sunshine...could look great once again in HD.
