Forums - Nintendo - Best wii u moments

I was playing Smash Bros when I learned Iwata-san died.

He was a great man. So sad he couldn't finish his fight his cancer.

It really made me sit down and appreciate everything. I mean, he died during the middle of the Wii U-he just finished announcing the new Federation Force game, and everyone was hating on him.

Truly sad a great legacy had to end with him hearing all the hate. Just made me more glad I don't whine over anything I don't like. Helps me appreciate things(and people) when they're still here.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

All you answer belong to SSB4. Ryu, Cloud and Bayonetta joining.

Basically everyone's dream 3rd party character got in. Don't forget the Pac-Man and Mega Man initial reveals.

bet: lost

Bayonetta 2 announced as an exclusive. (After the shittiness of E3 2012, this was the thing that finally got my pumped for the system)

The reveal of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Splatoon defying the odds and becoming a smash hit.

My favorite moment is when I found out I could never buy Devils third retail edition, I instantly knew what I had to do. Buy it digitally. Best choice of last year for me.

I'm a fan of itagaki, but i'm having a hard time convincing myself to buy the game. is it worth it?

No, it most certainly is not.

The controls are clunky, the framerate runs like a three-legged hippo, combat is shallow and dull, and the whole thing is just a tacky bore, like the video game equivalent of a straight-to-video crapfests like Snakes on a Train or Anaconda 4.

All of it, it's been one hell of a ride both good and bad (far far more good). Best system I have owned, and I have owned nearly every console/handheld released since Atari 2600. Wii U has seved me best as a gamer as it provides a nice mix of mainstream, hardcore, niche, retro, indie and casual/family friendly fun. It has the very best entries in the Mario Kart, Smash, Yoshi, Donkey Kong and Pikmin series and some of the generations finest entries in Mario maker, Splatoon, Bayonetta 2 and Xenoblade X. So much better than the generation winning Wii, its a crime this great console has gone largely ignored.

When I first played smash 4

Seeing characters like Cloud, Ryu, Mega Man, Pac-Man, and Bayonetta in Smash made my dreams come true and more.

Luigi's death stare was a great highlight.

I also liked that Nintendo was able to collaborate with other companies with Wii U. #FE, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 showed that Nintendo was willing to do other things besides their main games (if it wasn't evident already with Wii). Now, fans are clamoring for more future collabs such as Fire Emblem Musou, Capcom vs. Nintendo, and other potential ideas.

Plus, could not forget about new IPs such as the Wonderful 101 and Splatoon, which was a great success story for this gen.
