Amazing result

Its really not.... but its not as bad as people thought it would be.

The last Tombraider the reboot, people are saying sold over 3.4 million units in 3 weeks time.

This tomb raider, people are saying it sold 1m+ in about 2months time.

Its like 1/7th of the last games sales, if you facotor in time it was done in.

During the holiday season when its sales will be the highest.

Sales dropping that much... you cant really justify calling "amazing result".

Yes that true but those consoles where close to 80 million user base... The Xbox one is at less then 20 million. Don't even try and say what about the Xbox 360 users because the amount of active users on the 360 is less then the one in software sales for all games.

Well shit if that covers tomb raider then we'll done for them. 1 million isn't as bad as we all thought it was, it's a little less than what they hoped coming out on 2 platforms in the months of November and December but it's nice to.be pleasantly surprised!

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Nice!

*rips off shirt*

YEEEEEEAH! Tomb Raider!! Woooooo!!

And now it would be useful to get the revenue numbers!

It seems that the game was pretty heavily discounted for Christmas, so it would be great to have an idea of the average sale price. The first one had great legs IMO thanks to Steam sales for 20 bucks or less (and that one will too), but that's not what you want quickly after release :)

Around the Network

Yes heavily discounted like most games around BF and Christmas time. Please don't start this mess

Ok so we've got in this thread "It's XB1 and 360 combined" and "It was heavily discounted" as 2 ways people are trying to downplay this now. Any other reasons?

Did Phil Spencer buy 500k copies for himself now or some shit? Is that what the next attempt is going to be?

Come on, people.

Better than we were seeing all around.

I just think its hilarious that a) you think these numbers are actually good compared to the original reboot, and b) that you think a console's install base can affect the sales of a game that dramatically.

Fallout 4 is up to over 2.5 million on Xbox One alone and it came out the same day. Tomb Raider, even when combining the fact the "over 1 million" number includes X360 sales, and the fact that it was heavily discounted during the holiday season (while Fallout 4 was not) sold close to one third what Fallout 4's sales were on the same console over the same time period. If anything, you'd expect X1 Fallout 4 sales to be lower considering that the game was also available on PS4 and PC, and the X1 version was the lowest performing version.

Any way you look at it, it is not good.

Shots might be fired, but they're from a dollar store squirt gun.

Very interesting. That means Tomb Raider hasn't sold as bad as November numbers would have lead us to believe.

The first Tomb Raider sold 3.4 million units in its first month. Roughly 1,36 million on Xbox consoles.
Now they're saying it sold over 1 million on Xbox consoles in about 2 months.

Perhaps it took almost two months instead of one, but those aren't bad numbers at all. Especially considering the games it launched next to.

Most likely because it launched on the day fallout 4 released
