That's not how this works.
You have to pick all five in the OP, and rank them the way you did, but only them.
That's the round 1, tomorrow or so will start round 2 with five more nominees, until it reaches round 16, and after that we start the second phase of the event.
The nominees were picked up into another thread, collected between votes from users themselves.
You won't be in this event, though, as you are a 2016 user, you are qualified to participate into the next events from 2016 and beyond, not from 2015 and behind, and this is about 2015, the last year, the nominations finished December 31th, 2015.
You can vote once every round and participate this way, though, it's also a nice chance to get to know more people here.

Well looky here. What do I spy with my little eye? (little eye, cuz I'm Asian). Didn't know this thread existed.

Votes based on community interaction, not by avatar hotness. I swear. 😇 I also copied some other persons list because I'm lazy and using my stupid Windows Phone. So obvious mistakes in user names will remain.

5p- Outlawouron - one of the older crew that's hard to get rid of. Let's call them Originals. (Reference Vampire Dairies. Yes, I watched the show. I'm not ashamed. New seasons suck though)
4p- Rol - another Original. Won last year. A real pillar of this community
3p- Tee - a pretty active member that is loved by many
2p- Paatar - can't say I've interacted with much, but have seen more of lately. Seems cool
