FF8 is the best FF. I don't like Skyrim, The Witcher 3, or MGSV enough to play more than a couple hours. I think some open world games (some that everyone loves) lack direction to a fault.

*high five* My favorite is V, but VIII is easily the most underrated (with IX being the most overrated).

What's wrong with that, though? That's a plus, not a con.

Brawl is more fun to play than Melee.

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

At least most people acknowledge how great FF8's soundtrack is.

I would actually take FF9 over FF7 without too much thought. It's hard for me to say something is overrated--usually I can understand where people are coming from when it comes to issues with games. I think "overrated" has taken on a negative meaning. Usually when someone says something is overrated, I get the impression that they're saying everyone with a differing opinion is wrong. Probably because they generally follow up with points trying to get you to see how the game is somehow objectively "overrated". (Not that you would). Just thinking about it makes me laugh.

Sony, if you're reading this, do something new with The Legend of Dragoon. You will make me a happy man. Thanks.

You'll also note that came after and in contrast to "everyone is butt ugly OR". Take the half-victory and accept that I don't personally want to play as Bruce Jenner.

At least when I see people gush over VII, I can understand it. VII made an entire genre relevant and mainstream in the West. But IX? It was the last PS1 Final Fantasy. That's about it. Even looking at it without the rose- or shit-colored glasses, it made no real splash, it was simply better looking than VII or VIII for having come out last.

All I'm saying is, despite all the internet praise it gets, it was unimportant. People were already anticipating a Final Fantasy on PS2 by the time it came out.

1. FFIX is the worst Final Fantasy in terms of story arc, character progression, and character design. Aside from everything trying too hard and being annoying or predictable, every character was either butt ugly or was a guy pretending to be a girl. There's a problem when ORCO is the most developed and popular character in your game.

2. First Person is ruining the game industry with repetitive games and lazy development. It allows the dev to skip character design and animations since everyone expects FPS games to show everyone stuck with the sights in their face and the only thing that needs to move is the hip.

3. I can't take games with female protagonists seriously. Every single time it turns into a game of "how can we sell this game based on how the hero is a girl?" instead of "how can we sell this game that happens to have a female protagonist based on how good of a game it is?" Does this mean they play like bad games? No. Do I think is was necessary for Bayonetta's special attacks to render her naked because even though she can clearly generate a lot of hair for some of these attacks, these attacks will make her nude"? No, it wasn't. I typically avoid games with female leads because if I want to watch porn, I'll go do that.

4. The 3DS is the most overrated piece of hardware ever. Seriously. It had no more games than the Vita when it came out, and they launched at the same price. The Vita was more powerful with a better screen and real sticks, but the 3DS still caught on and became successful, whereas the Vita is floundering to maintain a lead over the Wii U.

5. All Halo past Reach sucks by default. This is just MS attaching strings to a corpse and making the body move around, hoping people will buy it. The story is over, so stop supporting this disgusting type of franchise milking.

That's a very popular opinion in the fandom. Honest...

Lets see:

- The PS3 is Sony's worst console up till now: The games may had been good, but everything was horrid, even the usual PS controller felt a bit clunky, completely drained any desire I had to play :v BBS from KH2,5 is still waiting for me to go back one day to see if I finish it :v which I doubt I will.

- Xbox is unnecesary in the industry: We do not similar console in the industry, specially a american series of consoles which are mainly known for their low quality, gaming hardware should had stayed with two competitors, one focusing on power(this time Sony) and one focusing in innovation(Nintendo).

- DmC is a glorious game: Maybe it is because I'm not biased against it from playing the original DMC series, but the reboot is amazing, and it was needed, the old character designs wouldn't had transitioned well to today's standards, we can quite see that with the original Vergil outfit

- OoT, Super Mario 64, and FFVII are overrated: Be it by today or said time's standards, they only get the recognition they get for being the first 3D games of big series, if they had been 2D games, I assure you they wouldn't get the recognition they have.

- GTA is a snorefest: Seriously, I'm still wondering what people see in them :/

- ORAS were ruined by not including the Battle Frontier: They were good games, but not having the Battle Frontier pretty much ruined everything else D: Hopefully it is included in the 3rd game of Gen VI :v

And I'll stay there for now :v

COMG guide to points: 1 point = Raging. 2 points = Beasting. 3 points = Tearing it up. 4 points = Berzerk. 7 points = Rampage. 12 points = Burst. 15 points = god mode. 20+ points = DIVIDING BY ZERO!!! 40+ points = Youkai (originally Pokemon).

-1 = Negabeasting. -5= NegaRampage. -10 = NegaBurst

As a 9-year-old who played JRPGs almost exclusively at the time, I'm an exception to that. I think the game's overall personality is probably what draws most people in, like how Vivi seems to be one of people's favorite characters from the entire series. To me, FF9 is like a direct upgrade of FF7--added a character in battle, increased limit break time, attach materia to weapons (almost more of a downgrade, but I liked it), the obvious graphics and music quality improvements... that's why I like it at least.

The overworld portions of A Link to the Past are horrible.
The original TMNT on NES is way, way, way, better than TMNT II: The Arcade Game.
In every way that Contra and Super C differ, Super C is easily better.

In general, 2D gaming > 3D gaming
