Forums - Gaming Discussion - Hackers back down? No PSN and XboxLive hacks this Xmas apparently

- Hacker group Phantom Squad who previously threaten to make gamers experience again this holidays a denial of service attack like last year, apparently backed down, this according to a new twitter account from the group:

Phantom Squad previously claimed it could take down both Xbox Live and Playstation Network for a week over Christmas.

The attack, known as a distributed denial of service (DDoS), floods web servers or websites with massive amounts of data.

In a series of posts, the group accused Xbox Live and Playstation Newtork (PSN) of having millions of dollars but not spending any security.

So there you have it, unless they are messing with us and they actually do it, you can actually turn on your PS4 and Xbone without fearing it will explode.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Am I the only one who remembers the same act from last year?

I'm talking about last year we had the exact same thing happening.
Another group with a two words name claimed that would be taking Lizards down after the DDoS stuff and then it turned to be Lizards itself trying to fool people around. It's déjà vu.

Oh ok. Nevermind.

DDoS is more of spamming than hacking, still annoying and illegal.
