Too bad they didn't add more translations than the ones used in the PS2.
It will surelly do badly here in Spain.
What a huge wall of text!
Anyways, is Capcom fronting a coming trend or will they be mostly alone in their main efforts? I really can't tell for sure, but it could be the beginning of better support.
Only time will tell I suppose, time and press releases.

Hopefully it will be a trend, but I can't say for sure. The companies that are supporting the Wii strongest right now are Capcom, Namco, Sega, and Marvelous. Marvelous actually doesn't seem to develop anything for the PS3 or 360, and has basically become Wii exclusive.
Square Enix says that the Wii is their primary focus (along with the DS and PS3), but their actions have yet to reflect that (unlike the others above). Activision and EA are slowly comming around, and Ubisoft isn't doing too shabby either. Wii's 3rd party future does look fairly bright.

I can understand why it didn't do well. I mean come on. Games are recreation nobody wants to play a work of art. Besides it didn't look very fun. In the end a bit too much furor for a port of a 2006 game that didn't do well.

As someone who bought the game on the PS2, let me assure you it was very fun. Art and fun aren't mutually exclusive. Kinda sad that games are struggling to be recognized as an art form because people refuse to buy anything but blood and boobs. When something truly unique and incredible comes along it's not given a chance.
I can only hope Wii owners don't snub this great game like PS2 owners did. I hope that for both the quality of the game and the future of the industry as a mature entertainment medium rather than the eternal haven of adolescent males.

I am extremely excited to see Okami come to Wii. I was one of the very few that decided not to rebuy a PS2 after mine crapped out last gen, so I was never able to play what looks to be a fantastic game! This is one of the best looking titles on the Wii (check gamesradar for side by side with PS2 version), and it will be probably be one of the best playing as well.

Gamesradar is running the early build without the rice paper texture and their videos are extremely low quality (too low to see anything). So I don't recommend anyone does this.
