One note about New Hope that people seem to have forgotten: Obi Wan (at the time) thought Vader was dead. Also, Vader thought his kid (didn't even know he had twins) died.

You may continue.

Unless Obi-Wan really really took the hermit thing to heart, he had to have known Anakin didn't die after their fight and that Darth Vader was one of the Empire's top officers.

I dont think this part is true.

Obi-Wan knows the Empire. Vader is well known to the point that Leia knows him by name when she sees him on the Tantine IV.  The Emperors sidekick, hunting Jedi for Years prior to New Hope. Obi-Wan knows he is alive and well.

I am pretty sure that Obi-Wan new that he was fibbing about his father.  His reaction when asked about Anakin would indicate so.

It's true that Vader thought that his child had died, but you would think that he'd have clairvoyance enough to know who Leia was.

I wouldn't say that at all. How would Vader know, she is not Jedi trained and as far as he is aware just a royalty member who happens to be part of the Rebel Alliance.

Jedi and Sith can sense if the force is being used or sense if a person has certain auras but not if someone is force sensitive, Qui-gon need his special blood count thing for Anakin.

Hmm, pie.

I don't know.  I think that he would be able to know who she is since Jedi/Sith have visions of the future.

I totally agree with the original post.  Fan service and a reach for a bigger audience that could care less about sci-fi or Star Wars.  Great post!

I went outside once, the graphics were great but the gameplay sucked!

Not sure how powerful future sense is. The Jedi had no idea who Palpatine really was yet many of them met him on numerous occasions for example and many were unsure about Anakin even if they knew he could do good. If Leia shows no signs of using the force, reading her future might be pointless and wouldn't show parentage for certain, just might show a relationship of closeness to Luke that that might not mean brother, could just be friend.

This said, at the time, why would Vader bother? He just invaded a ship, got the princess and told his men to 'Take her away.' He didn't mind read her at any time to find out the based of the rebels, so direct future reading doesn't seem possible, just feelings.

Hmm, pie.

That's why I said "at the time".  Somewhere along the way, he had to learn of Vader and told Luke " He's more machine than man".

Do you think Ghost Obi-Wan haunted Vader for a bit? For the lols?

Hmm, pie.

Never seen episode 2 3 4 5 6. Just the first of the new ones. Hated it.

This Star Wars however was great. I read all the plot summaries of the past ones and watched recap videos. But I had a great time at the theaters and it was the first movie I saw multiple times since Avatar.

Imagine if episode 4 was out in the day of the internet. It would get bashed to hell. The scene with Obi Wan fighting Vader while Luke escapes with Han was just a joke. Terrible lightsaber battle, just lets himself dies and his body disappears. People have too much nostalgia and don't understand how poor the old movies are in today's standards.  (saw this part when roommate was catching up on them)
