I was thinking if the NX launches in 11 months time (nov 2016) what high quality titles could nintendo launch it with? And i came up with three. The new Zelda, a new 3d mario and pikmin 4. We know that zelda wii u would probably come to nx, nintendo announced at least a year ago that they have been working on a new 3d mario game that would be made for new hardware and not the wii u and we know that pikmin 4 is almost done. Now in my opinion these three games alone would make the nx launch superior to any other that nintendo has come up with. Sure it is diminished slightly by the fact that the new zelda is not an exclusive but a simultaneous release with the wii u version but  with technical improvements over the wii u version would still be pretty desirable. So i think two of nintendo's juggernauts at launch alongside a new pikmin would be an incredible beginning for the NX. No doubt the half assed 3rd party ports will be all over the NX's launch but just forget about those i am just concentrating on the first party offerings. So do you think zelda, mario and pikmin could be ready from the get go and do you think there is any other nintendo games that could be ready instead of these or as well?

Of course even if nintendo has these three games ready at launch they may choose to space them out over a few months to maintain momentum instead of hitting us with these games all at launch, so i will extend the launch to include launch window, so could this be the best launch window in nintendo's history?

No.

You may be right as long as we are considering a short launch window (ie. first few months after console release). Don't forget that we also have no idea what Retro has been working on for the last 2 years. It will be 3 years by the time the NX comes out and so Retro should have something out very close to the launch window. Even better would be if the NX turns out to be the fusion concept and we get a mainline Pokemon game in the first few months as well.

That said, even if the NX does end up having the best selection of titles out within the first few months of launch, I still don't think that it will be able to topple the N64 for the best overall launch year. I mean, in it's first year the N64 had: Mario 64, Wave Race, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64 and Goldeneye... How do you beat that?

I am disgusted.

I think it could easily launch with all 3 of those titles. As a fusion platform, if it is such, it could also have a mainline Pokemon game within the first 6 months of launching. I also see a possibility for a new Metroid or other title geared towards Western tastes coming from Retro. I also have a feeling that within 1 year of launch (Christmas 2017) we will see Splatoon 2. So I think the NX has great potential for being a launch year juggernaut from Nintendo. What will 3rd parties do is the other big question.

Probably, and they don't have to do much to achieve it. I'd say Wii U was their best launch line-up so far.
