As long as it was only for a year I think his friend gave him the wrong advice. Sometimes doing a mental cleanse is exactly what's needed. As long as the year out isn't so you can wallow in your misery, but rather to become free of all entanglements and let the creative juices flow.

That makes me more and more interested to hear what really happened behind the curtain, to know what caused this horrenduos fallout and Konami final descent to madness.Do you have a link to the article?

I agree. Too much stress can kill you.
