Not if your focus is on consoles. China like Korea will be PC centric in their development and a lot of it wont get localised imo. So most of us on a site like this will just end up ignoring whatever they make anyway.

Biggest economy does not mean that they can develop games. Just like in other forms of art/entertainment as movies and novels, it takes a whole lot more than just money to develop such contents. They will first need to build up an environment and culture that stimulates people to have creative ambitions.

Bruh, Epic Games (Gears of War, Paragon, Infinite Blade, Unreal Engine) and Riot Games (League of Legends) are owned by a Chinese company.

Your title says developer.. Those developers aren't based in China, doesn't matter who owns them. Naughty Dog isn't japanese

Highly unlikely. They don't have the creative education and other creative industries like music, tv, movies and the supposedly really boring (according to the chinese kids i teach) chinese manga leaves much to be desired (Hong kong is different). On top of that only online free to play games and mobile games would be able to develop a home market because that's where china's at.

Korea, and even the likes of Russia and India are probably more likely. It' just not one of china's strong suits.

Maybe, but can you tell me actual Chinese developers that make interesting games?
I'm not saying they are non existant, I just want to say that a sudden rich economy will not create genius developers in an instant. Those things need to be built up bit by bit.

Of course, that's why i said Will. :D

Don't get me wrong, btw. This thread is about what do you guys think of it. So there aint really no right or wrong answer tbh. Thanks for sharing!

I doubt it. Japan has more influence world wide in the video game market than china does. Just look at Sony and Nintendo.

Yes, but since they own them. It would be much easier to bring those knowledges back to their country.

But again, im talkin about the future here. As of present, like i said, they're pretty weak :P.

I dont think so until they stop making knockoffs of current systems and create ips that are innovative, then they stand a chance but as of right now,no

They have the Skills... but lack the Creativity and Talent

Seriously? I think government censorship and cultural differences (in the begining at least) will be a big limiting factor. I feel they can easily excel at everything else once they get past these hurdles.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Nope

It could happen I suppose. A lot of games are developed in China, but they're mainly mobile titles and MMOs targeted at the Chinese market (mostly free-to-play).
Even a sizable amount of western AAA development work is done in China (for example by Ubisoft).

Many people seem to think that China is 1.4 billion people with no creativity whatsoever, only making polystations and other knockoff products. I've even seen posts suggesting that here, but that is of course ridiculous.

There are of course incredibly talented creative people in China. There are for example great movie makers that are recognized all over the world for their incredible artistry and craft. Let's not forget that Jenova Chen of Flow/Flower/Journey fame is from Shanghai.
