I have never played minecraft before. Well I did, but only the demo version and was way confused on how to craft stuff. I guess I was too busy to learn it. Is it too late for me to get into it? Do people still play it?     

How hard can Minecraft be? You break the block you place the block, get wood, build crafting table, collect more resources, find iron, make bucket, collect magma, collect water, make obsidian nether frame, go to nether, get rekt, come back, fight endermen, and similar things like dat, you don't need no fancy tutorial/walkthrough

And i thought that i was probably one of the only people left who had never played it.

I started first with Minecraft in 2014 and I still love this game!

Everyone plays in their own way, I personally see creative mode as a stupid waste of time and I always play on Survival Hard or Hardcore cause of the sense of an adventure.

I've been waiting for it to go on some super sale for the Xbox One.

Minecraft is at it's best in the beginning when you know nothing about it and you're learning for yourself. Avoid reading to much and experiment. I played in the beta though and it was nice to run a server with some friends who, like me knew nothing about the game or it's rule.

Is it too late to play any game?

The game is pretty simple and isn't that hard to learn.. unless if you are trying to do complicating things with redstones and such
