...... And that is it taking foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to update and install everything, and i mean forever. This cant be normal no way.

So minus all the bitching and trolling please i just want some advice, as in is this normal, is my xone broke, or if not can i speed it up somehow. so far it has taken nearly 18 hours to download witcher 3 to 76%. Forza horizon 2 took nearly 23 hours to get to 68%. then it told me i had to update my controllers.

Icing on the cake though was when i tried to watch a DVD and yep it says Witch 3 installation paused, please update and install the dvd player. ffs microsoft you shitting me???

for comparisons sake my ps4 takes about 4 hours to install a full digital game, wii u is fine. Company of heroes 2 plus expansions only took like 8 hours

so wtf is going on

How fast is your internet speed? how long does it normally take you to download 50gb?

The installing times on the X1 are FUCKING RIDICULOUS.

Call of Duty took more than 20 minutes to install on my console, from the fucking physical version of the game!!!

And no background installing, you have to wait for the game to install in order to play it.

Ridiculous...

I have all three consoles. It's normal. Xbox One games take forever to fucking install. If it's a huge game, you're looking at 40 min to install the damn thing. I don't know why they haven't fixed the problem because PS4 is killing it in this department. I know Phil as talked about wanting to improve it, so hopefully they have something in the pipeline.

How big is the update, and how fast is your internet.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

Well first of all that's not even true. You can play CoD AW before the install counter reaches 100%. I finsihed the first SP mission before it was fully installed.

Other than that, is ~30min really a problem? Can't you do something else in the meantime? Hell you can even play some digital game while you wait for it to finish . There are enough games (be it F2P, GwG, EA Access or digitally bought games) to choose from.

first world problems.

My own experience with XB1 is somewhat similar. Game installs are slow compared to PS4, and downloads in general seem to be slower than my PC and PS4, all of which are plugged in via ethernet cable. This is just part of the XB1 experience I guess - it sounds like your system is fine, though you may want to check that your internet connection is giving you the speeds you expect. For reference, speed testing my internet connection I get around 75-90mb/s.

I can't remember what game it was it might of been Black flag but apparently it took over an hour to install on Xbox one but only 30-60 seconds on ps4. The xb1 is slower at install things it's a fact, dunno whether yours is broke though.

Add me if you want but let me know youre from this website

Send it off to MS, if you are unlucky like me in the UK, then it has to go all the way to Hungary. Take two weeks there and back, i was pretty bored.

Except it's not.

PS4 installs just as slow as X1, it's just that the PS4 has a better file system, where certain files that are necessary for booting the game are prioritised during installs and/or the console is being able read the files from disc to boot the game.

Xbox One can only download one thing at a time, so it's normal that the Witcher 3 installation was paused when you opened the outdated DVD Player app.

However, my Xbox One slightly outperforms my PS4 in digital installation if they're both only downloading a single game (not a big difference though). So I think there's something wrong with your Xbox.
