@ mrstickball : "we don't like when people are anti-American", the same goes from anti-french americans, nobody likes being hated, and the "freedom fries" reaction/embargo was very unfair/intolerant to our choice not to help you war in Iraq. That's not if you were attacked in your own ccountry. People should respect other's choices. Moreover that was our president choice to use the veto, there were not even a referendum (even if 80% of French were against the war at that time). American Football and NASCAR racing? I don't like/don't care about the first one but I really like NASCAR (and I'm French, a sport that not broadcasted in France) as I like Formula One.

Actually, "french fries" were first made in Belgium, not France. Just like "french toast" was first made by a guy named French in New York I believe. So much for the idiocy of renaming these things because a few people were pissed off at France. I think I can accurately say that most Americans thought these sorts of things were petty and stupid, even if they disagreed with France's position on the war.

In any case, mrstickball just has poor tastes in sports ;) World football blows away American football any day!

This is one American who thought those idiots needed a slap in the mouth for that stupid crap. First of all one of American's biggest trademarks, The Statue of Liberty, was a gift from France. Without France the Americans of European descent would have never broken away from England in the 1770's. And the English language is damn near married to French words. Over half the words spoken here got Latin by way of France roots. "Post" & "Cancel" the option buttons for the posting area for an example. Original English or Anglo-Saxon is actually more foreign to the modern English ear than Middle English is with its heavy Norman French influence.

This just goes to show you the power thinktanks have over media to disseminate mind control in this country. Politicians need to be shot out of a cannon to the sun. They're worthless wastes of carbon. All of 'em. I'm being unfair but I don't give a doggone. Freedom Fries, Liberty Shakes all for wages that won't even get you an Apple Pie. HA!

WE ARE THE NATION...OF DOMINATION!

I have access to German Charts at my work:

1) PC is the leading machine accounting for 45% of the sales in units and 35-40% in value.

2) PS2 is the only home-console to have achieved success on the market. The DS is absolutely dominating  the console charts these days.

3) X360 is already dead (drop vs last year in software sales) and PS3 is doing bad. The X360 is in concurrence with PCs because its lineup is a bit similar (expect the games are more expensive).

Overall sales are just OK for a market this size because of PC piracy.

@Louie in all "where are you from" threads i said iam from austria/vienna anyway - you are the first european who don't know where the city vienna belongs. this city exists since Romans-Age ... where did you learn history or geography :)

@kai master: xbox is doing bad in france as well, but UK is a country where the 360 is selling well. Never the less, Wii is probably the console-leader in every country in Europe. I've heard that they're leader in France, UK, Spain and now, as I found out in this topic, Germany. I haven't heard anything about Italy, Portugal, the Scandinavian country's, eastern Europe and the Netherlands, though. And since I live in the Netherlands, I would like to know what the numbers are there. Does anybody know?

PS: Did sony really call Europe Sonyland? That's kind of weird, since they had to fire almost 200 people at Sony Europe.

As I said before I thought you just liked Vienna - despite beeing bad in geography

I´m more interested in Philosophy, writing and logic to be honest... I´m sorry for forgetting about your beautiful city

Hopefully a few of our great American games make it past their extremely crazy and dumb censorship ways.

Lol. I watch american tv-shows, just like anyone else and i really have to laugh at any claim that america handles censorship any better than Germany. Banning violence is nazi-like but banning a simple four-letter word isnt? Oh the sweet irony!

Censorship sucks regardless, and there is no need to put something forward as an example when it isnt.
