Forums - Nintendo - Minecraft Wii U uses the TV for Inventory and crafting, Not the Gamepad!

If you already own Minecraft on another platform, would having the crafting/inventory screen on the gamepad make you purchase the game again for Wii U?

If you don't own Minecraft already, does the lack of gamepad support somehow make the game no longer worth while?

Why is it called wiiu edition if it doesnt make use of the gamepad or do anything different, my partners son will want this but might have to stick with Cube Life for now.

Golden opportunity lost.

Why is it Third parties can't figure out the gamepad is good tool to help sell games. I mean does Nintendo have all the creative people in the video game industry

Nintendo have largely failed how to use it too...

I think Nintendo has done a fine job in trying to show how to use the Gamepad for gaming, and it does work in some cases- but in the end its sort of a flawed concept. I appreciate Nintendo's creativity and the idea but the reality is that the majority of gamers just want fast and focusing gaming experiences. they don't want to stare into their laps or have to mess with another periphial beyond just quick immediate actions (I.e. regular buttons)

this is stupid though, this game should have been really simple and obvious to use the Gamepad. at this point there's no reason not to have the feature, a lot of Wii U users would like it

maybe they don't expect Minecraft to sell that well on the system so were just like 'screw it'. I don't know

Sounds like a quick port for some quick cash.

I would suspect they wanted to get this game out for the holidays and update it with improvements afterwards. I think that this game will sell well (500k-1m) regardless and actually give the WiiU a decent boost in hardware sales as well.

Every person who really wants to play minecraft could play on a different console for cheaper. It may still sell well on the wii u, but it's not moving any hardware units

THIS

It's not like it will move Wii U's anyway

They need those additional developing resources for the NX version.

Ironically this is true. Developers will do anything to save resources. And Wii U version will probably sell the least of all versions.

.... They would probably earn more money by NOT releasing it on the Wii-U then actually release it on the Wii-U.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Not really a big deal, but a bit of a wasted opportunity.
