I think this game would be much better recieved if it was a $40 game like Captain Toad.

A $60 price point would severely damage this game's sales potential, as I just don't think most gamers in 2016 would drop that kind of money on a game of this type, with these graphics.

I remembered I had somewhere seen that the game isn't full price. So I checked the price on amazon.de and I was right. The game can be preordered for 45€. So I doubt that NoE will sell it for the full price. However I also checked amazon.com and the price there is 60$. The release is next year, so the price may still vary, but at the moment it seems that NoA wants to sell it for full price ... (Sometimes it is good to be european.)

Ah, I was unaware of this.

In my humble opinion though, it really needs to be $40 in the US though. I just can't see it finding success at $60.

2. The graphics, while ok are not looking like they would be worth paying full price that Nintendo will no doubt charge.

Lets look at $40 Nintendo Wii U  games: Toad's Treasure Tracker, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Mario Tennis and Amiibo Festival. Star Fox Zero definitely will  be bigger game with more content than those games, so $50 would be right price. Saying that I preorderd game in Europe for 35e. :)

Will it though? If Captain Toad has more content than say, Starfox 64. If Zero is similarly designed for a single sitting playthrough, it may well have equal or less content than some $40 Wii U titles.

Well I got 100% in Captain Toad in roughly 20 hours, but Star Fox 64 3D took me well over 80.

I guess in terms of raw content of course Captain Toad has more, but Star Fox's replayability really makes it worth the money. That said, I'm pretty sure Zero will be quite a lot longer than 64, especially with Miyamoto saying that they were focusing more on a single linear story rather than the branching paths, and the replayability would be playing levels again with different vehicles... though he also said branching paths are still a thing. But we'll see.

I should stress that I'm not implying that quantity = quality. I adored the hell out of Captain Toad, for instance.

It's that, as I keep seeing, I'm not sure American gamers would be willing to pay $60 for it. (I could be wrong of course)

Captain Toad is basically just more levels from Mario 3D World and has very low content without any replayability, you can basically finishe game with all collectibles in around 5-6 hours. Even Star Fox 64 had great replayability, same will be with Star Fox Zero and definitely will have more content, also you can replay certain levels with different vehicles.

So I really don't see how you think that Star Fox Zero needs to have same price like Toad's Treasure Tracker, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Mario Tennis and Amiibo Festival, because it's obvious bigger game than those.

Captain Toad had replayability; finding all the gems and completing the special objectives generally required multiple playthroughs of each stage.

Starfox Zero looks to be a short game without high production values, I don't think most gamers would deem it worth $60 USD.

Very low replayability, like I sad even with whole replayability you can finish game in 5-6 hours. There is a reason why is $40 game.

How you can say that Star Fox looks like short game!? If Star Fox Zero is short game Nintendo would give a price of $40 like for games that I mentioned and not full price. Game certainly have much bigger budget and longer development time that all games that I mentioned.
