Lets look at $40 Nintendo Wii U games: Toad's Treasure Tracker, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Mario Tennis and Amiibo Festival. Star Fox Zero definitely will be bigger game with more content than those games, so $50 would be right price. Saying that I preorderd game in Europe for 35e. :)
