Until dawn which was a sleeper hit not long ago could be got for $20. If that was Nintendo it would be double. Dishonoured won game of the year awards in 2012 and a few months later I got it for $25.
The fact is Nintendo take advantage of the fact none of their games have competition and the fans get ripped off.
If you buy a wii u now and a ps4 you'd get waaaay more quality games for let's say $20 on the ps4 then the Wii U.
It's economics 101. Competition benefits the consumer and on the Wii U there's no competition.

I guess we're ignoring the 3DS here then, which does in fact have competition from a number of third parties and yet Nintendo games still retain their value.
Oh look, Pokemon X/Y and ORAS still retail for about $40. Animal Crossing: New Leaf for about $30. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for $30. Then you have third party games, Story of Seasons is $40. Persona Q for $50. Professor Layton & The Azran Legacy is still $40. Seems it's just not Nintendo, huh? And this is with competition.
Maybe the fact that Until Dawn can be found cheap now is because of the value regarding the game. It's not exactly something that can be replayed a bunch of times by the average consumer. It's very much like a movie, most people are done with the first viewing. Word of mouth was great for the game at first but it's kind of died down now since there's not much else to talk about, thus the need to cut the price to retain interest. It isn't just due to competition. If it was, Rayman Legends wouldn't be $35 and GTAV wouldn't be $40.
Word to the wise, paying full price for a game is never a bad thing when the game is of high quality. And this goes for any game, not just Nintendo games.
