Forums - Sony - 2015 was Sony's most successful BF

Anyone happen to know what Sony's biggest November or Black Friday was in the past?

No clue, only things I found were these:

You can see that as someone already said, BF/November was smaller back then, with December taking a much bigger chunk of the holiday sales.

Highest November NPD was 1.3M (vs 2.7M in December)

As for the following generation, I did not have access to all the info (only till 2009), the highest November NPD I saw was >1.5M, combining PS2+PS3+PSP

Prob saw over 1.7 million for ps4/vita combined..... And with that 299 starwars bundle should be on track to topping 3 mili December..... Talk about skipping close to 40 million consoles by January

Will it really be that close to 40m?

I mean last numbers was 30.2million.

It's the most successful BF in being during the year 2015. No other BF has done this for Sony.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

MS and Sony are really sparse with their BF announcement, not even a YOY growth number in this? That could really help us gauge it against X1.

Very curious about the real numbers.

But with price cut 25% and psvita/ps3 even lower sales and/or ps4 sales rose over 25% but they could be including sw as well. But I want numbers.

MS was a PR statement, this was just a BF mention in an interview about general sales. We will probably only get the actual PR on NPD day, only a few days now...

What exactly is the context here? Was the in statement made only in relation to USA or the world. Black Friday has become much more of a...not quite world wide, but international thing. So Sony may be speaking form a world-wide perspective. However given there's really only been two years with an international Black friday vibe if he's talking globally this year but referencing "history" then history only applies to USA. So could be PR spin of Microsoft proportions here.

IF it's just confined to USA, then VGC is highly likely to have undertracked. At the moment it looks like VGC is showing PS4 just over 1.1 million for Nov in the USA, add in PS3 and Vita and we're still looking at less than 1.2 million. I also doubt software and other peripherals are adding much to the mix in terms of achieving a "best ever". So the conclusion has to be that PS4 is looking to be significantly undertracked somewhere in Nov. Whether that's BF, or SWBF or CoD launch weeks, or a combination of all 3 will be pretty impossible to know unless some more refined news comes out from NPD like X% of PS4 sales came from the [insert bundle], or Y% of PS4 sales came on Black Friday.

Anyway, I guess we should expect to see PS4 over 1.3 million for the month.
