What exactly is the context here? Was the in statement made only in relation to USA or the world. Black Friday has become much more of a...not quite world wide, but international thing. So Sony may be speaking form a world-wide perspective. However given there's really only been two years with an international Black friday vibe if he's talking globally this year but referencing "history" then history only applies to USA. So could be PR spin of Microsoft proportions here.
IF it's just confined to USA, then VGC is highly likely to have undertracked. At the moment it looks like VGC is showing PS4 just over 1.1 million for Nov in the USA, add in PS3 and Vita and we're still looking at less than 1.2 million. I also doubt software and other peripherals are adding much to the mix in terms of achieving a "best ever". So the conclusion has to be that PS4 is looking to be significantly undertracked somewhere in Nov. Whether that's BF, or SWBF or CoD launch weeks, or a combination of all 3 will be pretty impossible to know unless some more refined news comes out from NPD like X% of PS4 sales came from the [insert bundle], or Y% of PS4 sales came on Black Friday.
Anyway, I guess we should expect to see PS4 over 1.3 million for the month.
