The episodic approach is not the only way to offer a multi part series to FF7, specially to ff7 where they already provided several entries with "unique experiences". I think they're remaking all FF7 games like Crisis core and maybe Dirge as they are all part of the story. Doing so also perfectly fits their statement of releasing a multi-part series, each having their own "unique experiences".

So yeah, better change that title as nothing has been confirmed yet.

If they straight up reboot the FFVII compelation I would be crazy happy but I only have bad feelings about this right now.

Please SQEX, prove me wrong.

Well this is turning out different then what the fans really wanted. Hopefully they at least offer an option to buy a collection of all the episodes (like RE:Revelations 2). I don't want to pay more than $60 for all the episodes.

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

If there was ever any chance of me getting this, it's now gone.

FFXIII wasnt episodic - the actual story ended at the end of the first game - Toriyama was given the green light to make sequels because it would be easy and cheap to use the same engine and because Squareenix expected that the two sequels will sell hot like the original did but in the end each sequel sold worse than the original game so I'm sure the same approach wont happen.

Anyways, this decision to make FFVII episodic is more because of Life is Strange's success rather than FFXIII.

Did we play the same games? The story ended with LR. FFXIII was just a stepping stone. They're all deeply related.
