Forums - Gaming - Opinion: Microsoft, Sony and all the Big third party publishers need to follow Nintendo's route.

nah they're making way more money due to these videos being available for potential customers to watch.

AngryJoe has like what.. 2-3m views per review?
If only 1% of that can be convinced to buy a game, they'll get more profits than AngryJoe with that 1 video.

No one should Nintendo's example honestly, especially in this regard.

If anything this shows Nintendo should reverse that youtube policy.

The thing about goodwill is, its hard to build, but so very easy to destroy.

Those Payday 2 devs are also learning that hard lesson and also the same for the likes of Cliffy B.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

This guy has to be doing a Rol lol. I mean nobody can possibly be that st........nvm hehe.

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

Now, that alternative income streams for youtubers, like patreon are cropping up, I very much doubt that that would prove successfull for any of the publishers or youtube.
People would likely migrate away from youtube because the one big plus (besides platform recognition) they have on youtube would fall by the wayside, They woud not be generating money over it anymore. No reason to use it really, if they can't generate money with it, they might a well use vimeo or something.
Depending on the size of their audience they will make much more revenue from alternative souces, and their fanbase is probably more than willing to throw money at them. Basically, if a channel is big enough to live off youtube, it will be big enough to live off patreon.
Streamers are about personalities more, than they are about the game they stream. Yes, there might be a relevant time windows, to stream certain games, but in general as long as the streamer is providing some kind of quality output, the audience won't really give a shit what they are playing anymore.
The big looser in scenario would obvoiusly be youtube itself. Publishers, while not making any money off it would probably still have enough games streamed (on other video providers and twitch) for them to work as advertisements, despite the bad press over their money grab move. But youtube would suffer.

Is this a joke thread? Has to be.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I can't tell if you love Nintendo but hate this practice and want it justified by hoping the others follow in, or you just simply hate Sony and Microsoft.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Sony and Microsoft don't really need to do this, as games isn't there only or main source of money..

Sony goes all out on the Music side, but I don't see why they need to for video games.. this would just give them a negative light, like in Nintendo's case

And btw the objective of those youtube poilicies is not getting more money, is having control about its content, they are to blame for being too conservative, not too greedy.
