Need to keep writing "LOL" every comment like a troll?

We have different interpretation of the phrases "low budget" and "big budget". Probably for the same reason you use the term "AAA" to refer to a game's expenditure - when "AAA" refers to something on a critical level. Ni No Kuni is a low budget game. I'm not saying its a tiny budget Indie game. I see it as Low, Medium, Big. It's low. To call it a "big" or even "medium" budget game would be to throw it into an enormous pool of vastly more expensive games. When you have games that costs 30-500 million, anything around 10 million is "low" in comparison to that.

"Ni No Kuni had amazing graphics, great voice acting, great soundtrack, and a lot of content, and great production value. "

Psst. All can be achieved in your standard Indie game. We don't have any dev cost figures so we can only speculate. The only thing we know for sure is that Bandai Namco said that the game was a "huge commerical success" after just reaching 0.7 million units sold, and when I read it, I thought to myself that this game couldn't of cost a lot to make then.

So laughing really hard is trolling? I mean I was really surprised at how you could say games like GTA 5 are only AAA titles and I am seriously laughing just thinking about it.

Yeah, we do have different interpretations of big budget games, you seem to be the only one who thinks GTA 5 and games with $300 million plus budgets are AAA titles. I'm pretty sure you're the only one who thinks that on this forum. And I'm still truly baffled at how you're still comparing AAA games to GTA 5.

You can achieve that in your standard indie game? I haven't seen an indie that has hours of content, with amazing graphics, amazing graphics, great soundtrack and a great production value.

I'm not going to bother reading what you have to say on this topic because you're still comparing AAA titles to GTA 5.

Keep trolling bro about how you're "seriously laughing". Notice how quickly you degenerate the convo? You're never going to have a good spirited debate with someone if you write LOL after every point. PS: I think the way you keep using the dorky, casual gamer term "AAA" is actually laughable. Some guy on a podcast said it a couple of times and you caught right on.

3x you say that I said "only GTA5 AAA" and yet I never said that once or anything close to saying that - soo uhh yeah. That's an abusrd statement and I never said that. Because you're a little troll, it suits your argument to make it out like that's what I said.

Do you think it's normal for a "big budget" game to become a "big success commericallly" after selling 700'000 units?

Yes you can't be bothered to talk to me, even though.. you talked to me first. Please do me a favour and don't talk to me. It'd make my day.

Do you have a source for that? I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything. I did find that they had sold something like 700,000 units, but nothing about it being a big success.

I'm searching now but can't find it. News about the sequel is clogging up google search and this quote was obscure, but made by Bandai Namco. I know they 100% said it because it was read out on IGN's Playstation Podcast a month after the game's release and I remember reacting to the quote as Ni No Kuni was my favourite game that year. It was along the lines of "We're very happy with how it's sold, especially in the West which we did not expect." and at that point it'd sold 0.7 million. And I remember thinking "wow this must've had a small budget for them to be happy with 0.7 million units sold in the first month" -- hence referring to Ni No Kuni as a low budget game. The same way NIS and Atlus games sell 0.5-1.0 million units but are profitable. But I can't produce the link so take that anecdote at whatever value you wish.

Fortune favours the bold.

I think ni no kuni will get a 3DS version its why this say debut on ps4 ^^

Those are pretty dedicated words...makes an Xbox One version seem even less likely.

On a seperate note, this could be the first gen where I actually start to play some JRPGs. Ni No Kuni 2, and FF7:R look really good.

If the over the top oddball that is FFXV can make it, I think FFVIIR should have no problems. As far as I know, FFXV is even heavier...

I'm not saying that they couldn't do FFVIIR on the Xbox One, I'm saying it's interesting to hear them pushing the PS4 so heavily. Like, it would be really tough to then go "so, remember how we said we needed the power of the PS4? Well, here's the Xbox One version!"

It's not horribly implausible. They are pushing the PS4 with FFXV. The difference is how further the XONE would need to be strained, which might be a lot or very little. Some games have shown to be able to keep up with the PS4 versions when they have good coding. The only problem is if Square will go through all the trouble for a version that will only add around 300,000 sales (though they can easily go digital only, which means it's basically free extra money)...

Lol? Ni No Kuni is not a low budget game. The reason I don't see it coming to Xbox One or PC is because of the developer themselves. They only release their games on PlayStation and Nintendo.

Yeah it is dude... I'm suprised I have to defend that statement. Destiny cost 500 million to make. GTA5 300 million. Are you going to put all 3 in the same category as "big budget" games?

Mid tier budgets exist you know? Most games are mid tier, A games (not AAA games, those are blockbusters). Ni No Kuni was a mid tier one (15-25 million). Low budget games are under the 10 million mark, and shovelware is under the 6 million one. Big budget blockbusters are the ones that cost upwards of $30 million. Most Final Fantasy games are blockbusters, whereas most Tales games are mid tier games...

Ni-Oh is PS4 exclusive. Won't be coming to any other console or platform.

That being said it could be that we see a late PC port like Koei's other games.

See, this proves it, all the "console debut" and "console exclusive" stuff that was on the screen was an error. It seems the only game they didn't say was exclusive, was Yakuza 0. KoF XIV was already confirmed PS4 exclusive, NiOH they said it was exclusive to their platform and Ni No Kuni 2 was said to be an exclusive. The only game that wasn't said to be exclusive was Yakuza 0.

Which is jarring, since Ni Oh is fairly unheard of, but we know Yakuza as a PlayStation game... it should be the other way around...

So many Japanese games getting announced and PlayStation dominating, it's like the PS3/360 gen never happened. Weird how everything is mostly back to gen 6 levels.

It's like we went back in time, just with prettier graphics.

I am not ok with the idea of one company not having to compete by having a monopoly of the market, if that's what you're implying... I literally played the underdog team during the 6th gen for the same reasons I am this one...

That's fine, I love the underdog consoles. GameCube and Dreamcast are some of my all time favorite consoles. I'm just saying it's funny how closely this gen is mirroring gen 6.

If so, then I definitely made the right decision... it was literally the gen where I changed from Sony to Nintendo... then the Wii happened and I just said "screw it!" and went over to MS and it seems they are my real team, since they are the only ones that I've spent more than one generation on...
