Forums - Nintendo - Does anyone think the Wii will see add ons using its ports?

I was wandering if Nintendo will somehow create a storage device that plugs into the gamecube ports on the side, seeing how you can remove the white doors from the Wii.  That way it would still keep its sleek look.  Maybe they plan to use the USB ports for something.  I would love to see a storage add on that plugs into the gamecube side that makes the GC memory internal and offers wireless connectivity to the Wavebird without having to plug the receiver in.  Seeing as they discontinued the Wavebird, this would be unlikely.  Any thoughts here?

Consoles with addons have longer lives. I can't even count all the Ps2 addons it had!

(a steering wheel was one.)

Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.

Wii: 135 mil

Ps3: 85 mil

360: 60 mil

great ideas

If they do, give 2GB MINIMUM....

I could see an external memory add-on using the USB ports, but I highly doubt that the Gamecube controller and memory ports will be used for anything other than what they were originally intended for.

I've already theorized a housing that allows you to use a modified Wavebird receiver. that fits flush with the edge of the Wii. After all, people still plug gamecube controllers into the gamecube ports, so why would they give you a memory expansion that would take up one of those spaces, when they have the USB ports already available?

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods
Games I want: (Wii)Mario Kart, Okami, Bully, Conduit,  No More Heroes 2 (GC) Eternal Darkness, Killer7, (PS2) Ico, God of War1&2, Legacy of Kain: SR2&Defiance

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

Any add-ons would probably use the USB ports, I really doubt they'd use the GC plugs.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I only see a memory add-on. I doubt nintendo will do anything with the GC ports.

Nintendo has been historically burned with add ons (RAM extension worked ok, but 64DD etc bombed big). So they will be very careful...
