Sounds like a plausable plan. Theres nothing to gain from rushing just to crash and burn.

This makes more sense than all the crazy rumors we have been hearing.

They've done it often with their consoles, but not with their handhelds (for instance, GBA received games until 2006 despite the DS releasing in 2004, and DS got games until 2012 despite the 3DS releasing early in 2011). And their handhelds have remained strong while their consoles have weakened (Wii excepted). Maybe they've decided to treat their consoles more like they treat their handhelds.

But mostly, I'm pretty sure NX (at least, as a console) will be releasing in 2017. If NX gets any kind of 2016 release, it'll be a handheld.

Oh of course, Nintendo will announce games for Wii U and 3DS at E3 2016 but if the NX is releasing next year I could see it being spin off's like Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival and rushed games like Mairo Tennis Ultra Smash.

Zelda will likely be the last AAA Nintendo game on the Wii U. Which is sad because Wii U deserved better then it did, however I am excited for a fresh start.

They've said this before. They said this well before E3, and E3 delivered literally nothing particularly exciting. If continuing to make software for the Wii U means more cheap, uninspired sequels and spinoffs no one asked for, then these words are nothing to be excited about.

I'm not usually so saucy--I try to stay positive--but they're effectively done with the Wii U. I'm sure of it. Everything halfway good still coming for it was announced years ago, before they were certain they needed to abandon it.

I expect Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, another (hopefully good this time) Mario Sports game and some smaller titles like PokePark, Rhythm Heaven and so on. This will fill the gaps until the launch of the next home console in 2017 ;)

EDIT: Almost forgot Pikmin 4. I guess that's a save bet ^^

Actually I think we will have announcements of new Wii U/3DS Wii U next few months, at E3 all will be about NX, NX will probably be released at end of this year.
