I've been wanting a new Kid Icarus game forever now and everything points to that finally happening. So Reggie said some of those things? I don't think he would try to fan untrue information so its basically a confirmation if he doesn't deny it.

Meh but I wouldn't doubt it as Pit made it to Brawl he's going to have a new game sooner or later, Ness showed up in SSB then they started working on Earthbound on the 64 that didn't pan out and eventually came out on the GBA, I figure the same will happen to Pit.

It's a Nintendo game man. They are terrible! /sarcasm

 I know everyone is responding in a more joking manner, but this is actually a serious question. So far Kid Icarus has only ever been a NES/Gameboy platformer. A new Wii version would obviously be an entirely different game. So really we don't know anything about what a new Kid Icarus would be like.

So I'd answer this way. That was exactly the case with Metroid Prime, and that is one of my favourite games of all time.

It's Nintendo reviving a major franchise to be a new modern major franchise. I can't help but think that this game (when it comes) will be many things. 1.  It will be a fantastic game at what it does, 2. it will offer new and interesting gameplay mechanics and 3. It will somehow recapture the feeling of the original Kid Icarus.

 That all sounds pretty good to me. 

Kid Icarus would be awesome. I do think this will end up being a WiiWare game.

Interesting question. I think a mix of platforming and action set in a 3-d rendered 2d world. Add in a bit of RPG elements to the character growth and it would be a good game from nintendo.

The problem lies in how true to the roots do you stay? The original game was a platformer with very difficult enemies, especially at the beginning. So it was trying to be both at the same time, and that was hard. It was kinda like the original Metroid game (it used the same engine) but without exploration and lots more platforming.

I think a re-emergence of 2-d games is in the future. This would be a good game to do that with.

my memoreis of kid icarus is rather sketchy, all i remember is it being damn hard.

And yeah an advenure RPG would fit it quite nicely sort of like actraiser 2 (which was damn hard as well)

The last kid Icarus was so long ago, if they do remake it we just do not know what they are going to do with it or even could do. If it turns out like Metroid, then count me in. If it turns into the sonic 3D games, then count me out. Chances are with Nintendo, it will be like MP.  Pretty excited about this to be honest.
